“Inside Star Citizen,” the monthly update video released by Cloud Imperium Games, has revealed details about the Alpha 3.9 update for Star Citizen and shared information on New Babbage, a major trading hub on microTech that houses the planet’s flagship store as well as a number of small tech companies.

Star Citizen’s Principle Level Designer Friedrich Bode and Senior Environment Artist Jussi Keteli led the team in creating the high-tech city of New Babbage and discussed a few of the locations in the new landing zone that will come online this winter 2020.

The new city in Star Citizen serves as an oasis amidst the snow and ice of Stanton IV. The spaceport of New Babbage can be found outside of the city, which will allow players to land more easily due to the lack of nearby structures and obstructions. The spaceport’s atrium provides a transit system to shuttle travelers directly into the city, and the window-filled bullet trains allow for a spectacular view during the 24-kilometer journey.

With its treadmills, bean bag chairs, and cafes, the Commons in Star Citizen's New Babbage is an ideal place for people to hang out and work out in their downtime. In contrast to the leisurely Commons, the Plaza is geared towards business and the commercial side of life, providing office space and shops where players can purchase mining equipment or components for their ships. The Nest Apartments is the sleek habitation area, offering high-tech dwellings with spectacular views at the top of the highest buildings in the city.

Star Citizen is in development for PC.
