There’s a lot to do in Star Citizen. Players can trade, explore the galaxy, and even try out the game’s different combat mechanics. They don’t have to do it alone, either. With a vast multiplayer community, players always have the option of joining one of the game’s community orgs.

Also called player organizations or orgs, community orgs are similar to the guilds and clans that might be found in other multiplayer games. They give Star Citizen players the chance to meet up, unite, and work together towards their goals. Community orgs can vary drastically from one-another. One major difference can be an organization’s size. With around 4 million registered users, Star Citizen’s community orgs have no shortage of recruits, and many of the most popular orgs have several thousands of members.

Largest Community Orgs in Star Citizen

Evil Organized

Evil Organized does its best to live up to its name. Also called Evil Org, this community org is classified as a syndicate. It has 9,213 members, many of whom have deep ties to smuggling and piracy. Star Citizen players with a flair for roleplaying may find this community org appealing. Evil Organized is currently recruiting, and those who wish to join will need to provide a hardcore level of commitment.

Nova Intergalactic

Also called Nova, this organization's main mission is to stay neutral until the official Star Citizen release. The org hasn’t formed any alliances with other groups, and it is intent on staying that way. For this reason, Nova is an exclusive organization; players who join aren't able to be members of any other organizations. Qith 11,511 members, Nova's mission clearly has some appeal.

Xplor

With a focus on self-sustained exploring and trade, Xplor relies on teamwork and technology to get the job done. It's officially categorized a faith rather than an organization. In this case, however, this doesn't mean much. Xplor's manifesto acknowledges that this choice in categorization was largely a cosmetic decision, and that it's altogether irrelevant to their mission.

Xplor has 13,051 members and is currently recruiting. Players need to commit casually in order to become a member. They'll also have to agree that they aren't involved in pirating organizations, griefing, or trolling.

The Corporation

Like its name suggests, the Corporation is officially categorized as a corporation. This means that their interests often align with business. That doesn’t mean that they don’t take care of their own. According to their manifesto, the Corporation believes in autonomy, security, and communication, and this extends to each of its members. The Corporation has 13,142 members. Players can join the org without too much trouble, but they should be able to commit regularly to it.

TEST Squadron

With 21,970 members, TEST Squadron is by far the largest community org that Star Citizen players can join. It’s also one of the oldest groups. TEST Squadron isn’t specialized in terms of the roles players will be able to fill, so there’s something for everyone.

TEST Squadron is currently recruiting. Players don’t need to pass any special tests to join the organization, but they do need to be at least 18 years old.

Star Citizen is currently available on PC.
