Squirrel With a Gun, one of the most bizarre games to emerge in recent years, is set to roll out on August 29 for PC, with a console launch planned for later in the year. The indie game revolves around a squirrel using a wide range of guns and other objects to defeat enemies and complete objectives.

The gaming community first paid serious attention to the squirrel game when a video showing Squirrel With a Gun's eye-catching gameplay went viral in 2022. It gave glimpses of the possibilities in the game, such as holding a human NPC at gunpoint and running around with a stolen smartphone. Since then, the game has seemingly improved further and added more hilarious activities for the squirrel character to perform.

Recently, Squirrel With a Gun released a new trailer and officially confirmed the game's arrival on Steam and Epic Games Store on August 29. Besides PC, the game is scheduled to release for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players in Fall 2024. The latest video takes a deeper dive into the squirrel's diverse arsenal, bringing powerful weapons into the spotlight that include a shotgun, a grenade launcher, a rocket launcher, and a sniper rifle, among others. The squirrel is depicted using these guns in different ways to defeat its opponents.

Squirrel With a Gun Shows New Weapons in Action

Interestingly, the clip focuses on how the various weapons react when fired and how that affects the titular character in Squirrel With a Gun. It highlights the role of physics in the Unreal Engine 5-powered game and shows the squirrel's position being impacted differently based on the recoil of different weapons. For instance, while the fast rate of fire of an SMG makes the squirrel basically hover in the air when shooting an enemy right below, firing a sniper round launches the squirrel several feet away from its original position.

Moreover, the trailer shows both the shooter and the platformer nature of Squirrel With a Gun. The squirrel is depicted scurrying around, navigating through indoor and outdoor areas, shooting enemies, and collecting acorns. There are also some amusing parts that reflect the non-serious mood of the game, such as when the squirrel stuffs the head of an agent inside the barrel of a gun before unloading it on him. Another hilarious bit involves the squirrel, dressed as a cowboy, pulling off tricks with a six-shooter. Additionally, the game also lets the squirrel ride certain vehicles, such as a mini boat and an RC car.

What further confirms Squirrel With a Gun as a typical funny game are the segments that confirm players would be able to do silly activities, which seemingly include partaking in football matches against human NPCs and crashing their birthdays by throwing cake at them.
