Anya Forger is one of the main reasons people tune in to watch Spy x Family. The adopted daughter of Loid and Yor Forger,. Anya herself is a cute and energetic girl. Together, they are an example of a perfect family - at least that is how an outsider might see them.

While Yor is actually a deathly assassin who is known throughout the underworld as the Thorn Princess. Anya herself is actually a psychic who can read other people’s minds. The Forger family is actually a fake family. In order to do one of his most important missions, Twilight assembles these remarkable people to create a fake family. That being said, he doesn’t know the secret identity of his new family. As a matter of fact Anya is the only one who knows the truth about her real parents. And that is why she has a quite unique position in the Forger Family.
Anya’s Unique Position In The Forger Family
No matter how good Loid and Yor are at lying, Anya will always know the truth behind their words and actions. This means Anya is the one who holds the largest amount of information within the Forger household, and she can manipulate this information however she sees fit.
It might sound sinister when we put it like that, after all, she is just an innocent child. But truth be told, that childish and innocent side of her is precisely the reason why Anya can, and will manipulate her parents, to a degree. In fact, she has already done that several times in the series.
The first and most obvious one is when Loid comes to the orphanage looking for a child to adopt. Anya tells everything that he wants to hear, and even lies about her age and intellect because she knows what kind of child Loid needs.
The second most obvious time is when she talks about wanting to have a mother in front of Yor, who at the time also looking for a man that are willing to be her fake boyfriend. If Anya didn’t say anything at the time, both Loid and Yor may not even talk about their true intention. As for the reason why Anya pick Yor as her mother, well, because she knows about Yor’s true identity, and she thought it will be cool to have an assassin mother.
Moving The Story Forward
Although Loid and Yor are the one who have the cool professions, the one who moves the story is actually Anya. By knowing the real intention behind his parent’s actions, she can more or less guide them to make a decision that benefits her, as mentioned above, and thus moving the story forward. That being said, this strategy doesn’t always yield a successful outcome, such as the time when Loid makes her study despite her constant protest.
Other than that, the main storyline of Spy x Family is actually Loid’s secret mission, which entirely depends on Anya and what she does at school. Needless to say, Anya receives much more screen time than both of her infamous parents. Her activities at school are the meat of the story. So once again, she is the one who moves the story forward.
Comedic Relief
Although Anya can adjust her actions and decisions based on hearing the thoughts of other people around her, especially her parents, the chance for things to go according to her wish is actually rather slim. More often than not, her naive and childish way of thinking actually leads to a much more chaotic and hilarious outcome.
That is why Anya also holds the role as the comedic relief in the story. Sure, we as the viewers get a few chuckles looking at the stressful Loid and the airhead Yor, but the source of the audience's smile and laugh mostly comes from Anya and her unpredictable antics. That time when she punches Damian and the nonsensical excuse that she says afterwards, along with her absurd facial expression, is easily one of the funniest moments in the series.

Her physical appearance screams adorable and cute, her energetic yet silly personality is so lovable, and her random antics will induce laughter and sympathy from every viewer.
