Spy x Family: What to Expect From Season 2 (According to the Manga)

After an incredibly successful first season, Spy x Family will be back with even more craziness in Season 2.

1 Loid Is Anti-social

Loid's profession requires him to be serious and accurate because there is no space for mistakes. However, Loid carries this seriousness into his personal life, and he finds it challenging to engage in fun and casual conversations with individuals around him.

Loid is entirely oblivious to social cues. He does not understand sarcasm, and he is unable to see that Becky Blackbell, Anya's best friend, has a massive crush on him (although she is much younger than he is). Loid cannot be blamed for his lack of social skills, as he had quite a traumatic upbringing, and going into the spy world only aided his disassociation with others.

2 He Struggles To Be A Father

Loid and Anya

In order to get close to his target without suspicion, Loid adopts Anya and enrolls her in the same school as Donovan Desmond's son. Desmond is a politician Loid believes wants to start a war between Westalia and Ostania again. Desmond is a rare sight, only appearing at his son's school.

Adopting Anya makes Loid realize he does not have what it takes to be a father. Loid is very wary about his mission and does not want to do anything to disrupt it, and this makes him emotionally distant from Anya. But now and then, he tries to entertain Anya when she is bored, and since Anya can read minds and Loid clearly cannot read her mind, she tends to take advantage of Loid's attempts to get what she needs. Their interactions are usually fun for viewers.

3 Tunnel Vision

Loid is committed to his spy work, which is reasonable considering his success in this field. But the problem is that Loid is too focused on his spy work and cannot see or pay attention to anything else. He attends to his spy missions diligently, with no space for mistakes or errors.

This tunnel vision makes him oblivious to things around him. He does not pay as much attention to the other parts of his life. He struggles to build meaningful and personal relationships with others because his mind is permanently on his spy work and nothing else. In addition, Loid is not quick to realize that Yor is a trained assassin, which might make fans question his ability to decipher and read humans. As Spy x Family progresses, he tries to loosen up and focus on his' family.'

4 Does Not Entirely Understand Women And Children

Loid is a father and husband, although it is a pretense to get close to his target, Donovan Desmond. But anything worth doing is worth doing well, and he tries to understand Anya and Yor's feelings and needs but fails almost every time.

Spy X Family: Best Agents, Ranked

Intelligence gathering and spy activities is one of the major premises in Spy X Family, and here are characters that excel in this regard,

As a spy, Loid can, to a certain level, read people's minds and decipher their emotions without stress. He has learned to do so over time, which now comes easily to him until he encounters Anya and Yor. Fans find his attempt very amusing, as sometimes he gets very frustrated with his failure.

5 Loid's Traumatic Childhood Makes Him Emotionally Reserved

Loid had a somewhat abusive father, as his father would beat him whenever he came back from playing with his friends. Due to the war between Ostania and Westalis, Loid lost his parents and some of his friends. This loss pushed Loid into a dark space, and he had to fight for his life by joining the army and becoming a soldier.

All these events contributed to the emotionally cold and stoic Loid Froger fans know, which is why he finds it difficult to relate with people and build deeper connections with them. He fears the emotional pain that comes with losing a loved one.

6 Excessive Planning

Loid loves planning things down to the last detail. He never wants to find himself in an unexpected and unavoidable situation. As a spy, this is his strength because Loid is always ready for any problem or situation.

Loid is not used to being spontaneous, but his new position as a father and husband will test him severely. His excessive planning and attempts to stay on top of situations will fail him. He once made 862 plans to understand why Yor was feeling down and to make sure she enjoyed her date with him, but all his plans failed, which frustrates him.

7 Balancing His Work And 'Family'

Loid and his family

Loid prefers to move and work alone. He has been doing such for quite a while, but now he has a family. He only has a family because of his dedication to see a mission through, and he wants to make sure Donovan's plans to start a war are unsuccessful.

He marries Yor and adopts Anya, and he needs to learn how to use his time for work wisely, as he cannot take work home without risking his cover. He tries to spend time with them but finds it somewhat difficult to build a bond with them.
