Fans of the anime series Spy x Family can now play a dodgeball web game to aim for as high a score as possible while playing as Anya. The team even encourages you to share your best results on Twitter.

The official website for Spy X Family recently posted a web game inspired by its dodge ball-centered episode, which was pretty well received, as indicated by the troves of fans raving about it on Twitter. While the website is in Japanese and the period for its special prize has recently passed, Google Translate will make it easy to understand the instructions, so give it a shot.

Google Translate aside, the game is very straightforward, as it only requires players to press one of three buttons, each corresponding to a different direction or action. Anya reads the opponent’s mind and a text box above her head states what direction the ball will be thrown in. For a “super shot”, you’ll want to press the center button to duck. It only takes one hit to lose, but with Anya’s mind-reading abilities on the player’s side, how can they possibly lose?

That being said, for such a simple game, it’s surprisingly challenging and especially easy to be hit with the game over screen mere moments after starting. For anyone who’s seen the episode that inspired the game, it’ll invoke memories of the fierce battle between Anya and the opposing team’s behemoth Bill Watkins. The next season is currently scheduled to be released in October, but maybe this game will help to hold fans over until then.

As soon as it was released, Spy x Family came along and won the hearts of many anime fans. The blend of slice-of-life elements alongside the action and comedy makes the show very light, yet exciting to watch. The dodgeball episode was easily one of the best episodes of the first season, so it makes sense that the creators would use it as the basis for their web game.

Still, some viewers have not found the show to be all it's hyped up to be. The series does many things well, but it’s not exactly groundbreaking, nor does it introduce any novel concepts. With the first season of Spy x Family currently ranked as the 30th best anime of all time on MyAnimeList, a website for ranking anime and manga series, there is plenty of room to discuss whether the series has received more acclaim than it deserves. As it stands, Spy x Family looks to be one of this year's biggest hits.
