As mentioned earlier, Laid-Back Camp is about a group of high school girls who belong to their school’s Outdoor Activities Club (OAC). Although the name is “Outdoor Activities”, the girls mainly focus on camping. They spend their time looking for the next great camping site and work part-time to buy various camping gear.

Where Season 2 Ended

From Rin visiting Fukuda Beach on New Year’s Day to Chiaki, Ena, and Aoi camping together at Lake Yamanaka, so many fun and wholesome activities happened in the second season of Laid-Back Camp. However, the biggest event of them all was the group’s camping trip to Izu. Their farthest camping trip yet. Throughout the journey, they visit a hot spring at Nishizu, stay at a campsite on the plateau near Mount Daruma, and even see Capybaras at Izu Cactus Zoo.

What to Expect in Season 3

The story of Season 3 will pick up directly after the events of Season 2. Rin is planning her next solo camping trip while considering some minor upgrades for her scooter, Nadeshiko is captured by the allure of Rin’s solo trip and now wants to plan her own, while the rest of the group is excited to get some new equipment to boost their camping experience. One of the highlights of this new season will be Rin and Nadeshiko's short but sweet trip to the Ooi River Basin, a place known for its many iconic suspension bridges.

Laid-Back Camp is not a story that focuses on its characters. If anything, it heavily emphasizes the camping activities and the camping destinations instead. The three seasons of Laid-Back Camp are adapted from a manga by the same name, written and drawn by Afro. Yen Press publishes the official English Translation. The first season of Laid-Back Camp adapted the manga from Chapter 1 to Chapter 23, while the second season adapted the manga from Chapter 24 to Chapter 52. Based on those data, it is safe to assume that the third season will adapt the manga from chapter 53 to around chapter 80.

Although the third season of Laid-Back Camp will feature the same cast of characters, the ones who are responsible for producing the anime have changed. Studio C-Station produced the first two seasons. The third season, on the other hand, is produced by Studio 8-Bit.

New Season, New People

Studio 8-Bit is known for producing iconic series like Blue Lock and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, among many others. The director for the third season of Laid-Back Camp is Shin Tosaka (Infinite Stratos). Masafumi Sugiura (Barakamon) is responsible for the Series Composition. The music is composed by Akiyuki Tateyama (How a Realist Hero Rebuilt a Kingdom). The opening theme song is “Laid-Back Journey” by Kiminone, while the ending theme song is “So Precious” by Asaka.

Laid-Back Camp will be part of Crunchyroll’s Spring 2024 lineup, along with other series such as the 2nd season of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, the 3rd season of KonoSuba – God’s blessing on this wonderful world! and some new series like WIND BREAKER and Kaiju No. 8.Laid-Back Camp Season 3 is scheduled to be released on April 4th.
