Splatoon fans won't have to wait much longer to get their hands on Splatoon 3, as Nintendo's colorful, ink-fueled multiplayer shooter is releasing for the Switch on September 9 --merely a few weeks away. And fortunately, fans can sink their teeth into the sequel's new Tricolor Turf War battles by participating in Splatoon 3's Splatfest World Premiere Demo, which is pretty much free to download for everyone.

What is the Splatfest World Premiere Demo?

The Splatfest World Premiere Demo is available to download now on the Nintendo Switch eShop, but players can only check out the Test Range. However, on Saturday, August 27, 2022, fans will be able to check out the first official Splatfest event. Splatfests have been a part of Splatoon since the beginning, and they let players choose between two teams.

And based on the performance of both teams during the weekend Splatfest, one will come out on top as the winner. The Splatfests had choices like baseball vs. soccer, ketchup vs. mustard, and spoons vs. forks. This time, the demo Splatfest will force players to choose one of three teams: Team Rock, Team Paper, or Team Scissors.

Switch owners will need an internet connection and a Nintendo Switch Online subscription to participate in the Splatoon 3 Splatfest demo. Luckily, Nintendo is handing out a free seven-day NSO trial to anyone that downloads the World Premiere demo from the eShop. The code should be sent to players' emails.
