  • Team Bucket List, led by Frye, won the May 2024 Splatfest in Splatoon 3 by a narrow margin, ending Frye's long losing streak.
  • The revamped point system in Patch 7.0.0 allowed for a close battle, with second-place teams now earning points to decrease the gap.
  • Splatfests are a great way for players to earn rewards by supporting their chosen team based on different themes each month.

The May 2024 "World's End" Splatfest of Splatoon 3 concluded on May 19, and Team Bucket List, backed by Frye of Deep Cut, emerged victorious by a narrow margin over Shiver's Team Same Ol'. The win for Frye broke a long losing streak in Splatoon 3, which lasted over a year, and the new point system introduced in Patch 7.0.0 made the Splatfest a close battle.

Held approximately once every month, the Splatfests in Splatoon 3 are a lucrative way for players to earn currency and rewards for supporting the team that wins first place. Each Splatfest has a different theme, with each member of Deep Cut supporting one side of the theme. While the first two Splatoon games saw two teams face off, Splatoon 3 made it a three-team battle in each Splatfest. With the May 2024 Splatfest, the theme took a dark undertone, as "What would you do at the world's end?" was the question posed to players globally. Team Same Ol' was backed by Shiver, Frye was picked for Team Bucket List, and Big Man supported Team Save the World.

June 1 is Going to Be a Big Day for Splatoon 3

Splatoon 3 fans should mark June 1 in their calendars, as Nintendo reveals that the popular third-person shooter game will receive a major update.

Team Bucket List had a halftime Clout lead of 34.06%, with Same Ol' and Save the Day checking in at 33.36% and 32.58% each. For the first time since the Spicy vs Sweet vs Sour Splatfest of January 2023, Frye's team took first place in the Splatfest. This broke a losing streak that lasted over a year and a half and saw Big Man's streak of winning the two recent Splatfests in Splatoon 3 end. Team Same Ol' took first place in Conch Shells and Clout (Pro), which earned them 210 points. However, Team Bucket List pulled ahead with points in Votes, Clout (Open), and the open Tricolor Turf War, which gave them 370 of their 415 points.

Splatoon 3 May 2024 Splatfest Results (What Would You Do At The World's End?)

  • Team Bucket List (Frye): 415p
  • Team Same Ol' (Shiver): 395p
  • Team Save the World (Big Man): 60p

A change to Splatfest points was made during Splatoon 3 Patch 7.0.0, which increased the point totals and awarded points to the second-place team in each category. The second-place points are worth half the value of first place, which can allow teams to close the gap. This allowed Team Save the World to grab 60 points thanks to a second-place result in Clout (Pro). Twitter user OatmealDome pointed out that Frye would have won under the old point system. In that case, the score would have been 38 points for Frye, 19 points for Shiver, and no points for Big Man.

With Splatoon 3 continuing to receive periodic updates, support for the game remains at a strong point. It remains to be seen what the next Splatfest theme will be.
