Spider-Man: No Way Home might be the last solo Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland in quite some time. He could be returning for future projects in collaboration efforts as he is still under contract. The wider future for web-slinger is unknown. Now that the multiverse has been opened up, the possibilities are endless. Dr. Strange is going to have his hands full.

Spider-Man: No Way Home did a good job at blending every live-action Spider-Man movie that came before it. Was this a perfect blend? No, there were some plot holes and unanswered questions left on the table. Let's get to what these things were in a spoiler-filled deconstruction of the movie including all Marvel movies and TV shows up to this point.

8 Why Did No Avengers Come To Help Peter?

That is the question to ask with a lot of these movies and TV shows. That is especially true when it comes to New York City as it is home to a lot of heroes. Shouldn’t someone in the MCU have tried to help Peter?

Matt Murdock did which was a fun cameo but it didn’t hold as much weight as someone like a Pepper Pots jumping in to save the day. She is the head of Stark Industries now. Surely, she could have done something to help Peter out.

7 Why Go Back To School?

Peter going back to school from Spider-Man: No Way Home

Peter going back to school seemed like a bad idea. Even if he did win his trial thanks to Matt, presumably Peter couldn’t get anything done due to his classmates pestering him. Wouldn’t you? This kid did help save the universe after all.

Also, where were all the teachers? The only three to greet Peter back were Coach Wilson, Mr. Dell, and Mr. Harrington. It was a funny scene in the story but the principal should have been there as well at the very least.

6 Couldn’t Wong And Dr. Strange Have Used Magic On The Snow?

Dr. Strange from Spider-Man: No Way Home

What exactly was going on with that snow in Dr. Strange’s place? Wong and Dr. Strange explain that a snowstorm blew in through a portal which is a funny concept. However, couldn’t they use the same technique to get rid of the snow?

They could open up a portal to a snowy region and either blow it through with wind magic or heave it back through shovels. They could have even used a fire spell. Hiring two random people to shovel snow into buckets did not seem practical.

5 How Did They Make Those Cures In A High School Lab?

Electro from Spider-Man: No Way Home

Let’s go back to the school again. That place does not seem like it is lacking in any funds. However, it’s hard to believe that this school has all of the ingredients and technology needed for the three Peters to make cures for the villains. The hardest one to swallow was for the mini super collider they made to turn Sandman back into his human form of Flint. The timeline is also hard to believe in the movie. How long did it take to make these vital cures? Hours?

4 Did Fixing The Villains Make Them Undead?

Doc Ock from Spider-Man: No Way Home

The biggest question brought up in the movie that was left unanswered was how the villains were brought back to life. They all vaguely remember dying and then waking up in the MCU timeline. Did curing them of their issues revive them in their universes? That would involve time travel as well.

This may suggest that when a character dies, their life energy is sent to some sort of spiritual stream to be plucked from at random. The MCU hasn’t covered the afterlife much but it certainly could in the future. For now, this question is left dangling in No Way Home.

3 Is J. Jonah Jameson A Constant?

J. Jonah Jameson from Spider-Man: No Way Home

Part of the thrill of the multiverse is seeing characters look and act differently. All three Peters became Spider-Man but had varied backstories. What about J. Jonah Jameson? He is played by the same actor in the original trilogy and now in the MCU as well.

In the hearts of fans, J.K. Simmons was perfect casting for the character. It seemed like a no-brainer to bring him back. This could suggest that J. Jonah Jameson is a constant not just in attitude but in looks too. This is the only way to explain why he is the same person in at least two universes when everyone else at least looks different.

2 How Does The Eraser Spell Work?

Dr. Strange from Spider-Man: No Way Home

Dr. Strange tells Peter that the spell is going to erase him from the minds of everyone in the universe. This doesn’t mean that Peter is going to be wished away. It’s just that no one will remember interacting with him. There are many plot holes or at least unexplained elements to this spell.

Does this mean that photos will be erased? Wouldn’t MJ still have pictures of Peter? She may not remember him but she should still have things like that. If photos do exist then Peter could have made a video for MJ explaining what went down. Even going to Dr. Strange to explain what happened should have worked. He may do these things in the future of the MCU, but for now, there is no answer.

1 Venom’s Goo

Venom from Venom 2

Eddie and Venom appearing in No Way Home was like the ultimate troll. Their arrival was teased in the stinger for Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Venom even goes so far as to lick the screen when he sees Spider-Man.

However, the two don’t get to fight. They don’t even get to meet. Eddie is wished away by Dr. Strange after he uses the spell. However, that doesn’t mean Venom is gone for good. There was a droplet of symbiotic fluid left behind. In the comics, Flash becomes Venom at some point. Could he be the MCU’s next incarnation of Venom?
