Spider-Man: Miles Morales tells an amazing coming of age story of someone who's still learning what it takes to be a proper superhero. It is almost unanimously agreed upon that the game has a wonderful plot, but even the best stories have holes anyone can poke at.

This is not to say that the story of Miles Morales was flawed. It was fantastic for what it was. Be that as it may, heavy onlookers have realized many things about the game that just don't make sense. On the other end, the game also leaves a ton of breadcrumbs that has since caused many speculations and theories as to where the story may be heading.

10 Things That Make No Sense: Phin's Fighting Abilities

Phin Mason is a technological genius and a master at creating state of the art weapons. This is the very reason why she was able to garner the support of the Underground in the first place. However, there's one thing about Phin that just doesn't make sense to her character arc.

How is she able to fight the way she does? As far as everyone knows, Phin has no superpowers. She wasn't genetically altered in any way but her senses and movements are akin to that of an agile superhero. She also fights like she's received proper combat training, but that's never fully explained. She most certainly is able to hold up against the likes of Spider-Man and Rhino.

9 Theories That Do: Phin Is Still Alive

During the climax of the game's story, Phin eventually realizes the gravity of her actions after disqualifying everything Miles has been telling her right up to that point. As a final display of her humanity and decency, she saves Harlem by flying herself and Miles up to the sky, where Miles' explosion after absorbing Nuform energy will hurt no one else. No one else but her.

The ending points towards the fact that Phin has valiantly died after this sacrifice. This makes sense to the story and it's a fair completion of her character arc, but this is a comic book story. If there's one thing anyone knows about comic book stories, it's that no one remains dead forever. Her body isn't found after the explosion and no funeral has been held for her, even by Miles.

8 Things That Make No Sense: Roxxon Still Operates After The Story

Simon Krieger

Roxxon has done a lot of messed up stuff in this game just for the sake of influence and profit. Simon Krieger has done a lot of these messed up things and one could say he paid his due at the end of the game after being finally captured.

The company itself, though, has remained hushed and passive. The best they did was distance themselves as far away from Simon Krieger as possible, acting like they were oblivious to what the man was doing. The fact that Roxxon was still allowed to function with very minor consequences after the fact is very concerning and mindless.

7 Theories That Do: The X-Men Exist

The Marvel universe is a vast place. It is home to hundreds, if not thousands of superheroes, and many of those superheroes belong under the X-Men umbrella. While there has been no concrete appearance by an X-Men character in this or the previous game, there are signs and easter eggs that point to the validity of their existence.

One collectible players can find in this game is a concert ticket to Dazzle and Lila Cheney. These two characters are known in the comics as a musical duo who are also members of the aforementioned X-Men.

6 Things That Make No Sense: Aaron Knows About Miles Right Away

During one of the earlier missions, Miles responds to the first request his Spider-app receives. The sender of this request turned out to be Aaron Davis, Miles' uncle. Aaron asks Spider-Man to help with a train situation, which he does so eagerly.

At the end of this mission, Aaron gives Spider-Man an unlimited subway pass and prescribed the name correctly, revealing he knows that Spider-Man is Miles. He claims he recognized him from his fighting style, which is plain ridiculous. Maybe this says about Aaron's intuition, or he's been keeping tabs on his nephew, but Aaron's claim of how he knew about Miles being Spider-Man just doesn't make sense.

5 Theories That Do: Avengers' Existence

Marvel Square Enix Insomniac

Of course, the Avengers exist in this universe. The large tower with the massive Avengers symbol right on top of it is a testament to this fact. They are nowhere to be seen in this game, though.

Perhaps they're busy or are staying in a different hideout, but one thing is for certain. They exist in this universe. Peter Parker even makes a remark on it in the previous game.

4 Things That Make No Sense: The Avengers' Refusal To Help

The fact that the Avengers exist in this universe may be irrefutable, but their refusal to make an appearance despite everything that has been going on around their building is beyond astounding.

We get it, low street-level threats are way above the Avenger's paygrade, but bridges collapsing, buildings exploding, a supervillain running amok, and hundreds of roaming inmates most definitely are within their scope of work. Not even one single Avenger makes a cameo or a statement, at the very least.

3 Theories That Do: Norman Osborn As Green Goblin

Norman Osborn Spider-Man PS4

Norman Osborn is New York City's very own mayor and he runs his own successful company, Oscorp. Those who know Norman Osborn from the comics or previous films know him as the person who eventually dons that Green Goblin mask.

His transformation as the Green Goblin has not yet happened in this game, but there are signs that indicate he may be heading in that direction. During the post-credit scenes from both Spider-Man and Miles Morales games, Norman Osborn is constantly basked under green light, which is either a reference of his comic book persona or a foreshadowing of what's to come for the character.

2 Things That Make No Sense: Peter Leaving New York

Peter Parker new face

Peter Parker leaving New York City is one of the most baffling things about Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Yes, the game needed to find a way to keep Miles isolated to merit his own story and title. The way the game did this was to send Peter to Symkaria to serve as MJ's photographer, and perhaps to get a closer look at Silver Sable's war at home.

With all of these said, it is still mind-boggling Peter decided to leave New York, a city he loves so dearly, after only training Miles for about a year. It seems Peter believed Miles was ready to protect New York after their encounter with Rhino, but whatever the case, we're glad Peter took the leap and trusted Miles.

1 Theories That Do: Harry Osborn As Venom

spider-man 2 leak

This theory is one that makes sense the most. Ever since the reveal at the end of 2018's Spider-Man, it was already clear that Insomniac was heading towards Harry as Venom storyline. Throughout the events of the previous game, it's been thoroughly explained that Harry was battling a health condition, and the post-credit scenes indicate that the Venom symbiote may be the key to healing him.

The post-credit scene in Miles Morales shows Harry waking up. Perhaps we'll see if he'll indeed turn into Venom in the next Spider-Man game.
