The concept of the Multiverse has become an essential part of the current phase of the superhero genre, and fans are being bombarded with different variations of their favorite iconic superheroes as a result. In Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, viewers were treated to multiple different depictions of Spider-Man, and even though each variation was fleshed out quite well within the movie's runtime, there was still room to expand on each character.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse further expanded the Spider-Man Multiverse by incorporating even more variations of the friendly neighborhood superhero into the movie's runtime, but sadly, only a select few were really focused on. The lack of attention these characters received makes sense regarding the movie's runtime, but it would still be nice to see their stories explored in a spin-off.

8 Spider-Plushie

Spider-Plushie in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Though his appearance in Across the Spider-Verse was brief and mostly served as a means of getting a quick laugh, Spider-Plushie quickly became one of the cutest Spider-People in the entire Spider-Verse. Not only that, but he also seems to be one of the most aggressive.

While Miles is attempting to escape from the Spider-People pursuing him in Across the Spider-Verse, Spider-Plushie gives chase. Though he lacks the height and is essentially nothing more than a sentient stuffed toy, he does not lack determination, evident through the brief shot of him lunging his entire body at Miles' head. If given a spin-off, perhaps it could reveal why Spider-Plushie fights like his life depends on it.

7 Ben Reilly (Scarlet Spider)

Ben Reilly in Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse

Ben Reilly made his debut in The Amazing Spider-Man as a clone of Peter Parker. In Across the Spider-Verse, he chose to align himself with Miguel O'Hara in an attempt to leave his past behind. His most notable appearance in the movie sees him lamenting his past in a very dramatic way, but thanks to Andy Samberg's delivery, the scene is pretty hilarious.

Ben Reilly has obviously gone through a great deal, and though most Spider-People have too, there's something unique about his situation. Not only does he feel a need to express his anguish for all those around him to see, but his sad backstory almost justifies the way he laments. A spin-off centered around him would definitely be pretty comedic, but it would likely be pretty sad too.

6 Lego Spider-Man

Shortly after Miles' first encounter with Spot, viewers are treated to a short scene in which a Lego version of Peter Parker is seen communicating with Miguel O'Hara. According to Miguel, this Lego version of Spider-Man is one of the best, begging the question, how?

Though the scene is rather short, the animation alone, created by Preston Mutanga, is more than enough to warrant a spin-off in which Lego Spider-Man takes center stage. If Batman can get his own spin-off with The Lego Batman Movie, what's to stop Lego Spider-Man from getting the same treatment?

5 Jessica Drew

Jessica Drew in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Jessica Drew, voiced by Issa Rae, first appears in Across the Spider-Verse during Gwen Stacy's fight with the Vulture. She enters the scene by driving her motorcycle through a portal, lunging it directly into the Vulture himself, doing some web-slinging, and gracefully landing on a nearby surface. Any Spider-Person performing a feat like this would be impressive, but Jessica manages to do it all while being pregnant.

Though a live-action spin-off might be a little too ridiculous, given Jessica Drew's reliance on her motorcycle, it would still be a pretty interesting movie to see. Like Miles, she can also discharge bio-electricity through her hands, so perhaps a spin-off in which the pair teams up could be a great way to tell more of her story.

4 Peni Parker

Peni Parker, voiced by Kimiko Glenn, played a vital role in Into the Spider-Verse. After being transported to Miles' universe, she and her mech SP//dr aligned themselves with him in the hope of finding a way home.

Since then, it is clear that something has negatively affected Peni's life; when Miles meets her during Across the Spider-Verse, her bubbly personality appears to have disappeared, likely due to the canon event she was forced to experience. If Peni were to receive a spin-off, perhaps it could focus on what her canon was and how she was forced to deal with it.

3 Pavitr Prabhakar

Pavitr in Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse

In Across the Spider-Verse, Miles travels through a portal and ends up in Mumbattan, a colorful mashup of Mumbai and Manhattan. There, while attempting to catch Spot and prevent him from reaching the universe's collider, he meets Pavitr Prabhakar, this universe's Spider-Man variant.

Pavitr Prabhakar is arguably the most wholesome addition to the Spider-Verse due to his carefree attitude, upbeat personality, and upfront infatuation with his girlfriend, Gayatri Singh. Since Across the Spider-Verse reveals very little about how his spider powers came to be, a spin-off could explore a great deal of his origins.

2 Hobie Brown (Spider-Punk)

Voiced by Daniel Kaluuya, Hobie Brown quickly became a fan favorite for viewers of Across the Spider-Verse due to his unique design and punk rock attitude. Upon first meeting Miles, it's difficult to tell what his motivations are, but he quickly proves to be one of the most just and honorable Spider-People in the entire movie.

If given a spin-off, fans of the character could get a chance to see how Hobie came to be who he is. This spin-off could focus heavily on the character's youth and showcase exactly how punk rock came to shape his personality and sense of humor, all while pitting the Spider-Punk up against a villain who embodies conformity itself.

1 Gwen Stacy (Spider-Woman)

Though the origins of Gwen Stacy's Spider-Woman were pretty much covered in Into the Spider-Verse, there is no reason why the character would not be able to carry her own spin-off, whether it focused on her past or future.

Voiced by Hailee Steinfeld, this version of Gwen Stacy proves to be the character's strongest onscreen depiction yet. She is one of the most capable Spider-People in the Multiverse, and even though the Spider-Verse movies tend to focus mostly on Miles, she often steals the show.
