Spider-Man Remastered saw the original game updated with graphical improvements like ray-tracing, new trophies, and new suits, making it a noticeable step up from the PS4 version. As of now, Spider-Man Remastered is only available with Deluxe Editions of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, though a new listing could hint at this changing.

While most players who experienced the original Spider-Man game were excited to play Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a few were unhappy that the spinoff had to be purchased to get access to the remaster of Insomniac’s first Spidey game. It seems like the feedback has been heard regarding this decision, as a listing for a standalone version of Spider-Man Remastered was recently found in the PlayStation Store. While the post was quickly taken down by Sony, players were quick to record the details.

According to a series of posts on Resetera, it seems the standalone version of Spider-Man Remastered was given the price tag of $39.99. With a placeholder price of $59.99 not being used and Sony going with something more fitting of the remaster, the idea that this could be a legitimate leak as opposed to a slip-up seems a bit more believable. Unfortunately, while players could see the listing and add the game to their cart, they were greeted with a “this item is not available for purchase” message when trying to checkout.

While this listing could be a mistake and should be taken with a grain of salt because of that, it is possible that Spider-Man Remastered will be standalone soon. With this in mind, a few more players can join the ongoing discussion on Peter Parker’s controversial face model change with the PS5 version. While some players are upset with the update due to certain Spider-Man scenes losing their emotional impact, others defend the change as they believe Peter looked too old previously.

Regardless of the controversy, Insomniac seems to be going ahead with the new face, as it appears in Spider-Man: Miles Morales as well. Aside from the Peter face debate, the PS5 version of the game has been highly praised by fans. Spider-Man Remastered recently received cross-save support as well, allowing players to bring their PS4 saves to the PS5 — though the saves will need to be uploaded from PlayStation 4 first. 60 FPS was also added via a recent patch, further improving the visuals of the updated Spidey game.

If this PlayStation Store listing proves accurate, players that have been interested in buying the game standalone may soon be able to do so. With Spider-Man's terrifying boat people seen again via an updated easter egg for the PS5 version, there is plenty of fun to be had for new and returning players alike.

Spider-Man Remastered is available on PS5 for Spider-Man: Miles Morales owners. A standalone version is rumored to be coming soon.
