Part of the fun of Spider-Man: Miles Morales is flying through New York City in an awesome varity of new and classic Spider-Man suits. Perhaps the most exciting suit is Mile Morales' cat sidekick, a feline that not only looks adorable but also fights crime with Miles. Unlocking the suit takes some time, but it is more than worth it.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales offers many suits to unlock, but his feline buddy may be the most sought after. Unfortunately, the cat cannot be unlocked right away, as it takes some time to snag the suit. Players must complete the campaign, as well as carry out a few steps.

How to Unlock the Spider-Cat in Backpack Suit

The first step in obtaining the "Spider-Cat" suit is unlocking the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man app in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. When this is done, a notification will alert players of a robbery nearby. Once the player arrives at the bodega, they find the owner, Teo, is upset because both his store was robbed and his cat was stolen. Players must now complete the mission, which means infiltrating the base and saving the kitty.

Instead of instantly having access to the suit after this, players will notice that the Bodega Cat Suit is still not unlocked if they go to the suit tab in the main menu. Two things now need to be completed, players must complete the "Cat’s Pajamas" mission and beat the Spider-Man: Miles Morales campaign, which takes about 7-10 hours.

The Cat's Pajamas quest does not appear until the campaign is complete. So once Spider-Man: Miles Morales has been beaten, players should go to Miles' apartment, and then leave again. The new mission will now be available, and it needs to be completed. Players will then need to go back to Teo’s bodega, and this is when the cat will join Miles. Ironically, the cat's name is Spider-Man, meaning Spider-Man: Miles Morales stars Spider-Man (Miles Morales), Spider-Man (the cat), and Spider-Man (Peter Parker), who assists Miles from afar while being away from New York City.

The cat sidekick suit has stiff competition for best costume in the game, as the Into the Spider-Verse suit, based on the animated film, is another fan favorite. While the cat sidekick helps Miles in taking down bad guys, the Into the Spider-Verse suit has a mod that changes the frame rate of the game – giving it a stutter effect – and adds comic-book style pop-ups, making Spider-Man: Miles Morales look very much like Into the Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available now on PS4 and PS5.
