Insomniac Games knocked it out of the park with Marvel's Spider-Man in 2018, one of the best selling PlayStation 4 and superhero games of all time. Naturally, fans are eager to jump back into the shoes of Peter Parker in the inevitable sequel, and while that game is almost certainly on its way, Insomniac decided to fill the wait with a smaller story in the same vein as Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
Releasing alongside Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered, Spider-Man: Miles Morales ushered in the next-generation and did a lot to help expand Insomniac Games' Spider-Man universe. From building out the character of Miles to its faithful adaptation of best friend Ganke, the story and gameplay built on the original in exciting new ways. Perhaps the most exciting detail came right at the end, where Spider-Man: Miles Morales' post-credits scene offered fans an extended look at what's to come in the sequel. Please Note: MAJOR STORY SPOILERS ahead for the ending of Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales Post Credits Scene Explained
At the end of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Phin Mason a.k.a. the Tinkerer sacrifices herself to save Harlem after being unable to stop the Nuform reactor from going critical, something that would level the entire neighborhood. Fast-forward four weeks, it's revealed that Roxxon Director Simon Krieger (played by The Last of Us 2's Troy Baker) has been arrested after Aaron Davis a.k.a. the Prowler turned himself in to police and testified against Krieger. Following the end of the game, there's some extra scenes that players will likely want to watch a few times (see below).
In this post-credits scene for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the camera view is coming from the perspective of an unknown person that appears to be in some sort of tank filled with green liquid and covered in some sort of black goo like sludge. A TV is heard in the background describing the events of the main game, confirming Roxxon has been slammed with lawsuits and Rio Morales is now the city councilwoman for Harlem. Norman Osborn enters the room and looks directly at the tank before stating to nearby scientist missing an arm: "He's been in there long enough. I want him out, Curt." In this scene, Norman Osborn is, of course, speaking with Doctor Curt Connors a.k.a. the Lizard.
Marvel's Spider-Man Post Credits Scene Explained
For those who played the first game, the post-credits scene for Spider-Man: Miles Morales builds on what was already teased at the end of Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered. At the end of the first game, the post-credits scene shows Norman Osborn walking into a secret laboratory in his skyrise apartment, a room that's entrance is hidden behind a portrait of Norman and his son, Harry. After being absent for the entirety of the game, only mentioned a handful of times, Harry is shown suspended in a large tank full of green liquid and covered in black web-like goo. Seemingly to himself, Norman Osborn states: "We were so close, but... I'll keep trying. I will find a cure. I will. I love you, son." The scene ends with a web-like hand reaching out to the glass to meet Norman's.
Connecting the scenes together, in Marvel's Spider-Man, Harry was thought to have been sent far away due to an illness that took his mother and threatened his life. Turns out, Norman had been keeping him alive in a laboratory until a cure is found and clearly using the Venom symbiote in one way or another. Fast forward to the end of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and it was revealed that Doctor Curt Connors has been helping Norman find a cure (it's believed that Connors has already been the Lizard at one point as people can be seen dressing up as Lizard in Marvel's Spider-Man). The Venom symbiote is also still attached to Harry, and it's likely that both of these characters are going to appear in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
How Spider-Man: Miles Morales Sets Up Spider-Man 2
So far, everything that has happened throughout Marvel's Spider-Man, The City That Never Sleeps DLC, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales have all taken place in chronological order, meaning there's no question about time jumps and whether certain characters will be around or not. When Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is released, both Peter Parker and Miles Morales will be known heroes in the city, with well-known characters from Spider-Man lore all expected to appear including Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn, Curt Connors (the Lizard), Venom, and potentially Green Goblin depending on the scale of the story.

Between Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Insomniac Games is building out its own Spider-Man game universe, and it looks like there's a lot of exciting things to come in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
