Just like its predecessor, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a gorgeous game full of details for fans to appreciate. Recently, one Spider-Man: Miles Morales fan found a small touch that should prove to be particularly cool for fans of Peter Parker, the original Spider-Man.

While Spider-Man: Miles Morales is very much Miles’ own story, Peter’s presence is felt all throughout the game. Though he is only present physically at the start and end of the adventure, he constantly calls to check in on Miles and see how his friend is coping with the role of Spider-Man. The training missions are another way that Peter is included, with the hero telling Miles stories about his past crime fighting adventures and his encounters with proper super villains. However, there is one other way Peter appears.

Near the end of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, players experience a flashback that highlights the bond between Miles and The Tinkerer, the game’s villain. While this is the main purpose of the scene, the sequence also includes a fun moment where Miles bumps into Peter Parker and Otto Octavius - with Miles having no idea how much the former would go on to influence his life. Seeing Peter and Doc Ock together is also a great way to illustrate how close they once were, with many fans loving the flashback because of these cameos. However, Redditor hakusa11 shared an image showing that most gamers missed out on a neat secret when playing this level.

If players use Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ photo mode during the “Like Real Scientists” mission to zoom in closely on Peter’s character model, they can spot web shooters hidden under his sleeves. This is an awesome touch that shows how smart Peter is, with the wall-crawler always prepared to swing into action if something goes awry. Many fans were quick to praise Insomniac Games for including the web shooters, as few players would ever notice them.

This discovery will surely spark more discussion about a Peter Parker skin, something fans have wanted for a while. If Insomniac will ever add one remains to be seen, though. Not only does it go directly against the concept of a secret identity, but it would likely take a lot of work on the studio’s part since it would need to add new facial animations for when Peter gets hurt in combat. Still, these hidden web shooters illustrate how much effort Insomniac is willing to put into even the small things, so maybe such a skin will happen eventually.

With Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 being exclusive to PS5, Insomniac can fully lean into the console's power to deliver a truly next gen experience. As a result, fans could be in store for a game that is full of details like this one.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is available now on PS4 and PS5. A PC version is in development.
