Marvel's Spider-Man's combat is fluid and improvisational with many strategic options for players to consider. Blended with core mechanics such as aerial attacks, web-based gadgets, and abilities purchased from skill trees, Marvel's Spider-Man's suit-related powers offer a breadth of stylistic freedom and experimentation.

Marvel's Spider-Man's Suit Powers can either be instrumental to an encounter or a fun way to iterate and innovate upon other mechanics presented. Suit Powers, as the name infers, are associated to particular suit cosmetics that let players don an eclectic catalog of costumes. Some suits do not come with a Suit Power, but fortunately Suit Powers can be taken and used indiscriminately of what suit players wear. One fan has recently shown this concept in action to bully a minor villain that appears briefly in Marvel's Spider-Man.

Redditor goodnesswhy3 shares a clip where they abuse Marvel's Spider-Man's Blitz Suit Power to perpetually pummel Taskmaster with momentum-based energy strikes. Taskmaster appears suddenly and mirrors Spider-Man's animations in his own attacks, but he is vulnerable to throwables and counterattacks. Rather, goodnesswhy3 demonstrates that well-timed Blitz strikes can exploit his window of vulnerability as he gets up until he is ultimately defeated.

While goodnesswhy3 has the Spider Armor Mark 2 Suit equipped, Blitz comes from another suit entirely. Spider Armor Mark 2's sleek black-and-gold suit comes with the Bullet Proof suit power, which renders players temporarily invulnerable to any kind of gunfire. However, Blitz comes from Adi Granov's Velocity Suit, an original and technologically advanced design. The Velocity Suit was made available as one-third of a pre-order bonus for Marvel's Spider-Man and is distinguished by its red and grey armor plating, unique lenses, and glowing turquoise spider insignia.

Other suits come with their own powers, such as the Wrestler Suit's King of the Ring Suit Power, which lets players web-throw enemies without having to stun them first. Of course, these Suit Powers all have a temporary cooldown after use, so they cannot be fully spammed throughout a fight. But in combination with environmental resources, gadget ammunition, and abilities fueled by the player's Focus bar, the appropriate Suit Power could turn the tide in any encounter.

With the option to swap Suit Powers between preferred cosmetic suits, players are able to make their play-styles unique. Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales followed suit with its own Suit Powers, and it will be neat to see if any of these previously established Suit Powers are reprised in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is available now on PS4 and PS5.
