This web-swinging multiverse-hopping adventure waiting for audiences in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will excite Spider-Man fans all over, and certainly keep them on the edge of their seats as they await what’s next after the credits roll.

Major spoilers ahead for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse!

8 Miguel O’Hara’s Spider Hunt Resumes

Spider-Man 2099

The mission of Spider-Man 2099 is not complete, and Miguel O’Hara has arrived on Earth-1610 to ensure that the Canon Event will not be disrupted. Miguel O’Hara is joined by other Spider Society members, like Jess Drew and Ben Reilly. Miguel O’Hara is angry, and he is certainly hunting for Miles Morales to stop his sabotage of the Canon Event.

With the Spider Society keeping a close eye on Earth-1610, and particularly the Morales family, it’s inevitable that Miles Morales will have a rematch with Miguel O’Hara, as they battle for the fate of Miles’ father in New York City, and his Earth.

7 The Spot Returns With A Vengeance

The Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse ending has the Spot emerge from exploring the multiverse through his dark matter holes back to his original Earth of 1610. The Spot has declared himself as the arch-nemesis of Spider-Man, and he has personal reasons for doing so, thanks to the dismantling of his life at the hands of Spider-Man.

Now, the Spot wants to take away Miles Morales’ life in return and will do so by killing Miles’ father, Captain Jefferson Davis. The Spot can hop across different universes with ease, and his return to Earth-1610 shows that the clock is ticking for Spider-Man to save his father and his world.

6 Spider-Gwen Assembles A New Band

The burden of responsibility weighs heavy on Spider-Gwen and Spider-Man. Peter and Gwen have lost Miles Morales as a friend, but they end Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse with a hopeful note of saving their friend. Spider-Man may believe that he can save everyone, and with Spider-Gwen’s new band, maybe there’s a chance that he can.

Spider-Gwen is joined by Peter B. Parker, Spider-Noir, Spider-Ham, Hobie Brown, Pavitr Prabhakar, Spider-Byte, and Peni Parker. This new Spider-team will search the Multiverse for Miles, and build back his trust to try and save everyone, father, and universe included.

5 Miles Morales Is Trapped In A New Universe

As Miles Morales escapes the terrors of the Spider Society, he finds himself in a world unfamiliar, a world without Spider-Man. Miles Morales has landed on Earth-42, the Earth that his radioactive spider came from to give him his powers. In a world without Spider-Man, and a constant barrage of “glitching” that will inevitably kill Miles, the clock is ticking to find a way home.

Miles Morales is trapped with no way home and remains as the Prowler’s prisoner. To make matters worse, the Prowler is Earth-42’s version of himself, with Uncle Aaron on the side of villainy. Miles needs to find a way home to save himself and his father back on Earth-1610.

4 The Spider Society Divides

The Spider Society consists of many different variants of Spider-People. There’s the typical Peter Parker Spider-Men, as well as unusual additions like a T-Rex Spider-Man, as well as a cat variant. However, what is clear is the divide on the message of “with great power, comes great responsibility”. Some Spider-People will inevitably disagree with Miguel O’Hara’s mission due to the belief that Spider-Man has to make a choice, and cannot save everyone.

Some members of the Spider Society have already left Neuva York, including Peter B. Parker, Spider-Gwen, and the cyberspace superhero that helped Miguel O’Hara the most, Spider-Byte. The sequel will inevitably see more of a war between the Spider-People, as there are those that side with Miguel, and those with Miles.

3 The Fate Of Earth-50101

Pavitr Prabhakar-spider-verse Cropped

Pavitr Prabhakar is Earth-50101’s one and only Spider-Man. On this Earth, Pavitr Prabhakar protects Mumbattan, as well as enjoying a cup of Chai. However, a Canon Event disrupted the life of Pavitr Prabhakar, as his father’s girlfriend, a police captain of Mumbattan, was destined to be killed in a fatal accident. However, Miles Morales intervened and saved him, causing a disruption that could spell fatal for Earth-50101.

Audiences have already seen what happens to an Earth when it is disrupted by a Canon Event, and the fate of Earth-50101 remains a mystery for now. Hopefully Beyond the Spider-Verse will return to Earth-50101 to provide audiences with an update on this Earth, and ensure its safety over its demise.

2 Canon Event Of A Captain’s Death

As seen with Earth-50101, disrupting a Canon Event could have catastrophic consequences, causing the eradication of entire planets. Canon Events are a great meta-commentary on the best Spider-Man comics. Miguel O’Hara is determined to stop Miles Morales from intervening in the death of a captain, and that captain just so happens to be Jefferson Davis, Miles Morales’ father.

This Canon Event has to happen, otherwise, Miles’ Earth may fracture and glitch itself out of existence due to the disruption of what is regarded as Canon. Beyond the Spider-Verse will conclude Davis’ fate, and whether Miles can save his father and his planet.

1 The Untapped Potential Of The Spider-Verse

Spider-Man No Way Home Tom Holland Tobey Maguire Andrew Garfield

In almost every Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse scene, there’s a Spider-Person with a distinct style and identity. The film features plenty of familiar faces and some unknown, but what is clear, is that the team behind Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse is not done when it comes to the creative cameos of Spider-Man characters.

It’s inevitable that Beyond the Spider-Verse will feature more characters than Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse, and if fans are lucky, hopefully, everyone is in for a reunion of Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire, the latter two feature in some form in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is in theaters now.
