Insomniac Games has confirmed a massive Spider-Man 2 update coming in 2024. Insomniac released Spider-Man 2 earlier this year to widespread critical acclaim, which saw the open world superhero game nominated for multiple categories at The Game Awards 2023. Spider-Man 2 failed to win a single award at the event, but that hasn't stopped many from still pointing to it as one of the absolute best games of 2023.
Spider-Man 2 reviews praised the game's gorgeous graphics, story, and powerful performances. However, there's always room for improvement. While some were expecting the next big Spider-Man 2 update to drop in 2023, Insomniac has clarified that it's now aiming to release it in early 2024. Insomniac has also teased fans with what they can expect from the next big Spider-Man 2 update.

Out of all the new features, it's likely that fans will be most interested in the New Game+ mode. Spider-Man 2 New Game+ has been one of the most highly-requested features since the game's launch, as many fans want to replay the story with all their upgraded abilities. Insomniac made no mention of it, but some fans are hoping that Spider-Man 2 New Game+ adds more trophies to unlock as well, which would give players even more reason to hop back on the open world superhero game.
Many Spider-Man 2 fans are likely happy about this new, free update, but others may be holding out hope that Insomniac also has premium DLC in the works. The original Spider-Man game had multiple DLC packs that expanded its story, and so there is hope that the sequel will as well, but nothing has been announced at the time of this writing. Spider-Man 2 sets up multiple villains and plot threads that could very well be handled in DLC if not in a full-fledged sequel, so fans will have to stay tuned.

The sequel to 2018's Spider-Man and its Miles Morales spin-off, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is a PS5 console exclusive. Insomniac's open-world game features Peter Parker and Miles Morales as dual protagonists, with the two heroes going up against the likes of Kraven, Venom, and Lizard.
