Highlights

  • Insomniac adds eight new suits to Spider-Man 2, including fan favorites from previous games and collaborations with celebrities like KidSuper and Rina Sawayama.
  • The latest update also includes accessibility additions, notable fixes, and improvements to address player feedback and enhance the overall gaming experience.

The latest Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update is now live, adding eight new suits for Peter and Miles alongside a host of other features and improvements. While Spider-Man 2 was met with rave reviews and chart-topping sales figures when it launched on the PlayStation 5 back in October, many fans felt that the assortment of playable costumes was a step down from past entries. Adding to this was the fact that several popular suits from Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales were left out of Spider-Man 2’s costume line-up, despite the addition of long-awaited options like Andrew Garfield’s ensemble from The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

To its credit, Insomniac has taken measures to add more suit variety to Spider-Man 2 through free updates over the past few months. In March, Spider-Man 2 added two new costumes for each playable character alongside the much-requested New Game Plus feature, but none of the still-missing suits from previous Insomniac Spider-Man games were included among them. However, Insomniac announced that another Spider-Man 2 update was coming earlier this month, and that it would indeed bring back some of the old suits that players missed.

Sony Praises Marvel's Spider-Man 2 As It Hits Massive Sales Milestone

Sony heaps praise on Insomniac's title Marvel's Spider-Man 2, after the game reaches yet another extremely impressive sales milestone.

As of June 18, this latest Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update is now live, with a special trailer showing off the eight new costumes that are included in it. Four of these new outfits were previously available in either Marvel’s Spider-Man or Spider-Man: Miles Morales, with Peter now able to don his Last Stand Suit and animated Into The Spider-Verse costume. Meanwhile, Miles can now swing across New York City in his black-and-gold Uptown Pride Suit and cel-shaded Animated Suit.

New Spider-Man 2 Update Adds New Suits And More

The rest of the new costumes included in the most recent update are completely original Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 suits created by celebrity fashion designer Colm “KidSuper” Dillane with the help of pop star and actress Rina Sawayama, Formula One race car driver Lando Norris, and football player Vinicius Junior. This collaboration has given Peter the motorbike-inspired Motorchic Suit and racing-themed Fluro Suit, while Miles now has access to the soccer-infused Ginga Suit and the Metro Suit that incorporates KidSuper’s signature “puffer” style.

Just like most of Spider-Man 2’s other alternate costumes, the new suits added in this latest update come with different color variants, giving players even more variety while swinging above the mean streets of New York as either Peter Parker or Miles Morales. Fans are still eagerly awaiting confirmation of the much-rumored Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 story DLC, but in the meantime Insomniac is still addressing their feedback with the introduction of these new bonus suits as well as a variety of other new features and gameplay tweaks.
