Insomniac Games' Spider-Man 2 has a very large map. Players can explore the different areas of the game to find items such as Tech Parts, Hero Tokens, City Tokens, etc. Exploring the different areas not only allows players to get ahold of these resources but also to locate other items needed for the completion of side missions.

Since the map is so extensive, Insomniac Games has made many changes to traversal-related abilities to ensure that Spider-Man 2 players can have an easy time exploring the new locations. Slingshot is among the new additions to the game, and players can use it by following the steps mentioned in this guide.

How To Slingshot In Spider-Man 2

Upon starting a new game, players will not have access to the slingshot skill. They will have to unlock it from the shared skill tree of Miles and Peter. Thankfully, players do not need to spend a great deal of points on the ability, as it is the very first option in the tree. It will cost players one skill point to unlock Slingshot Launch. Only after gaining the skill will players be able to sling themselves into the air. Slingshot can be used whenever players are on the ground by holding the L2 and X buttons and then releasing them. In addition to using Slingshot in Spider-Man 2, players can also utilize Super Slingshot.

Players can cancel a Slingshot by releasing the L2 button.

How To Use Super Slingshot

Spider-Man 2 super slingshot

Unlike regular Slingshot, Super Slingshot can only be performed at specific locations. Players can see these locations on the map, and they can be identified by their slingshot marker. Head to one such place and climb to the very top. When players are in the right position, a prompt will appear on the screen asking them to press and hold the L2 and X buttons to launch the hero in the air.

Using the Super Slingshot allows heroes to cover a much larger area. Players can also use Spider Wings to glide for a longer period through the sky. If players want to improve their gliding and swinging abilities, they can focus on the Traversal option from Suit Tech. Upgrading the Suit Tech requires players to collect various resources. These items can be gathered by completing main missions and side missions and dealing with minor crimes happening all over the map.

Spider-Man 2 is now available on PlayStation 5.
