Insomniac has now confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will feature over 65 alternate costumes. Both Peter Parker and Miles Morales are known for wearing multiple spider-suits in their many appearances in comics, TV shows, and movies, and the previous two Marvel’s Spider-Man games featured several of them for players to unlock and equip. Some of these suits grant Peter and Miles special abilities to help them take down enemies or more easily swing across the vast open-world version of New York City that Insomniac has crafted in its take on the popular Marvel icon.

When Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was announced during a blockbuster PlayStation Showcase livestream back in 2021, fans naturally began speculating on what classic Spidey costumes would be included - with some of the most popular suggestions being Andrew Garfield’s suit from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Tom Holland’s more comic-accurate outfit from the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The iconic black Symbiote costume will play a major role in Spider-Man 2’s story, and Insomniac confirmed that a collection of bonus costumes will be exclusive to deluxe editions of the game during Summer Games Fest back in June.

This is just the tip of the iceberg for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as Insomniac has confirmed that the game will feature over 65 unlockable suits during September 14’s State of Play livestream. During the show’s Spider-Man 2 segment, Senior Creative Director Bryan Inthiar stated that this selection includes outfits from the comics and movies in addition to original designs from Insomniac. Players will have even more variety in how their Spider-hero looks thanks to the game’s new Suit Style system, which offers different color variations for each suit - meaning that Spider-Man 2 will have more than 200 possible options overall.

The suits that Peter and Miles can wear in Spider-Man 2 wasn’t the only topic Inthiar brought up, as he also briefly discussed how his team at Insomniac looked to evolve Spider-Man 2’s open world. The game’s map is now twice the size of the previous Spider-Man titles, with the addition of Queens and Brooklyn as new explorable locations. These new areas are filled with hidden secrets, landmarks, and side activities for players to uncover - including encounters with villains not yet seen in the Insomniac Spider-Man universe.

Peter and Miles won’t have to worry about not looking good while exploring this larger open-world city in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as the game features over 65 alternate outfits like Peter’s Symbiote outfit from 2007’s Spider-Man 3 film and a Puerto Rican-themed ensemble for Miles among many others. With the ability to further customize these costumes with the new Suit Style system, players will have plenty of suit options when Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 swings onto the PS5 this October.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 releases on October 20, exclusively for PS5.
