One of the most impressive features that Insomniac Games has stuffed into Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is the ability to seamlessly switch between the dual protagonists of the game: Miles Morales (Spider-Man) and Peter Parker (Spider-Man). While players are exploring the classic blocks of New York City and the newly added neighborhoods, fighting crime and unlocking trophies, they can play as either superhero to play around with their unique skills and powers.

When players start Spider-Man 2, they will be forced to play as the OG Spider-Man for a little bit, and then the game switches to Miles, and it will go back and forth for pretty much the game's intro. Eventually, players will have to complete a mission for Ganke to repair the FNSM application.

The app is used to take on missions and activities, and it's also how players can switch to Peter or Miles.

Once the FNSM is fixed, Spider-Man 2 players can switch characters by swiping left on the DualSense's touchpad and then holding down the square button.

It's worth mentioning that this option will not always be available. For example, if Miles is speaking to his mom on the phone, the game will not let him switch to Peter. Or if Peter is on a mission related to his life, like a date with M.J., the game will also not let you switch characters.

Players can also open the FNSM app by hitting the Options button and selecting the 'Open FNSM App' option.

Players who open the FNSM app will see the list of missions and activities. To the right of the mission name is an icon for Peter and Miles. Some quests will only show one character, and some will show Miles and Peter. This lets players know who the mission is for. If a mission is specifically for Miles, players can still head to the mission starting point as Peter, but the game will switch control to Miles once the quest begins.

Due to the SSD of the PS5, the switching feature only takes a few seconds, throwing players into a totally different section of New York City.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is available for the PS5.
