Peter Parker and Miles Morales' spider powers allow them to traverse Spider-Man 2's New York City at breakneck speeds, even without special fast travel features. There are also slingshots peppered around the city to provide even further movement options, rings to boost through with the glider, and, eventually, players will actually be able to fast travel to the neighborhood of their choice, but they'll need to complete some activities first.

If Spider-Man 2 players open the map with the touchpad, they'll be able to move around by using the left stick. There are several neighborhoods to look through on the NYC map, such as Little Odessa, Chinatown, and Midtown. Each section of the map has its own District Progress bar, and players will receive rewards upon completing activities within the area.

If players fully complete each district's progress bar, they will earn the Superior Trophy. Work your way to the Platinum by collecting the rest of the game's trophies.

How to Unlock Fast Travel and District Progress Rewards in Spider-Man 2

In order to unlock fast travel in Spider-Man 2, players will need to get the District Progess Bar to the second tick. The first reward for the bar are two Rare Tech Parts used to unlock and craft new suits for Miles and Peter. The second reward unlocks fast travel for that specific area, and it can be used by hovering over the location on the map and then pressing the Triangle button.

The third reward for completing activities in a district are two Hero Tokens, which are also used in the suit unlock menu.

The activities that players can perform will show up on the left side of the map when hovering over the area. More will become unlocked as players progress through the story, but some things that can be done are completing FNSM Requests, discovering Photo Ops locations, or retrieving pieces of Marko's Memories.

So, as long as players stay within a region and do everything there is to do, they will unlock all three rewards (including the option to fast travel).
