An interesting Easter egg discovered in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 teases the possible arrival of the Fantastic Four. Insomniac has introduced many iconic comic book villains like Venom, Lizard, and Kraven the Hunter in Spider-Man 2, and could now be hinting towards the introduction of a new superhero team in the future.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 became one of Insomniac’s highest-rated games ever at launch, and also saw immense critical and commercial success. There were several aspects of the game that players applauded, which included the new traversal system in Spider-Man 2, which is faster and more fluid than the pervious games. Now, an Easter egg in the game is hinting towards the arrival of a popular superhero faction from the Marvel universe.

In a post on Twitter, user Spider-Ben shared a photo of top of the Baxter building in the game, which has a massive “4” logo on it. For the uninitiated, the Baxter building serves as the headquarters for the Fantastic Four, which consists of Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman, Human Torch, and the Thing. This could mean that the Fantastic Four could be introduced in some way in a DLC or sequel to Spider-Man 2, or it could also be hinting towards a standalone game for the superhero faction.

Other Easter Eggs in Marvel's Spider-Man 2

Aside from this, there are a couple of other Easter eggs in the game that could be hinting towards Insomniac’s plans for the future. One of these is related to the upcoming Marvel's Wolverine game, which was teased at the PlayStation Showcase in 2021. Recently, Spider-Man 2’s creative director, Bryan Intihar, also confirmed that Wolverine and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are based in the same universe, which could be hinting towards a future collaboration or face-off between the web slingers and Logan.

Aside from this, there are also references to Knull, the God of Symbiotes, who could also seemingly show up in a future sequel as well. Furthermore, Spider-Man 2 also seemingly teases a Daredevil debut in the future. Players have also found clues hinting towards an organization that Daredevil fights called the Hand, which could lead to a partnership between the Spider-Men and the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen in the future.

Apart from the Easter eggs, players have also come across many secrets in the game that makes the gameplay interesting. For instance, a player accidentally found a hidden wind tunnel in Spider-Man 2 while exploring the open world, which had blue rings in it that gave them a speed-boost.
