So far, Spider-Man 2 is gaining glowing reviews, and most critics who played the game praised how the new title offers an amazing open-world experience that evolves from its predecessor. So, players should download the most up-to-date version to get the most out of the experience.

Ahead of its launch, Spider-Man 2 offers players a glimpse at the many classic comic book villains that Peter and Miles will battle.

Now, Insomniac Games has advised gamers that to play the best possible version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, they should patch their games if they bought physical discs. The physical releases contain the original build of the game, which is 100% playable from start to finish. However, this version lacks some general refinements, as well as additional accessibility options, and players who do not update their game files will miss out on that. Players who bought the game digitally, however, will not have to worry, as their games will already be patched up to the 1.001.002 version as soon as they start playing.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 originally went gold back on September 20, a full month before the official release. This means that the team had plenty of time to make significant improvements. Anyone who follows the latest releases knows how critical these early updates can be, as they make even excellent games run more smoothly and add non-critical options in some cases.

When gamers are finally able to play Spider-Man 2, they will have plenty to do in New York City. For instance, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 comes with a bigger map, which allows gamers to visit Queens and Brooklyn, aside from the old areas in Manhattan Island, in which iconic locations such as Central Park and the Empire State Building can be visited. According to Insomniac Games, the full map is around twice the size as before. Gamers may also control both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as they explore these locations and face classic Spider-Man enemies, gain collectibles such as new suits, experience new powers, and much more.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 releases October 20 on PS5.
