Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is getting its very own cereal collaboration thanks to a team-up between Insomniac Games, Sony, and General Mills. With less than a week to go until launch, this announcement comes on the heels of the reveal that the game has become one of Insomniac Games’ highest-rated titles.

This partnership marks the third brand that Insomniac Games and Sony have been working with to promote Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The first came earlier this month, as the Marvel Twitter account announced a new collection featuring a sneaker inspired by the Peter Parker Advanced Suit being taken over by Venom, along with several other footwear and apparel, including football cleats, compression tights, and sweatshirts. Then, last week, the Marvel Twitter account revealed at New York City Comic Con that they were also collaborating with the renowned eyewear company Warby Parker to release a limited line of eyeglasses and sunglasses frames inspired by characters in the game like Peter Parker, Miles Morales, Mary Jane Watson, and Venom.

With just a few days to go before the launch of the highly anticipated Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Insomniac Games has announced on Twitter that it is partnering up with General Mills to produce a limited-edition box run of Wheaties cereal. The boxes feature the game’s protagonists, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, in their iconic game suits, with the two web-slinging superheroes being the first video game characters to appear on the cover. Fans will be available to purchase the cereal exclusively on the Wheaties website on Oct. 19, a day before the game is released.

On Twitter, some fans are worried about the cereal being available only through one storefront online, especially with scalpers who have no qualms about buying up limited products and then selling them at a high markup, such as what happened recently with the Van Gogh Pokemon cards. Despite this, a majority of fan reactions to the announcement have been overwhelmingly positive, with some declaring that they will have to try the cereal for the first time. One keen-eyed fan even pointed out that Peter Parker would be ecstatic by the announcement, referencing a comic panel where Aunt May made his favorite breakfast, wheat cakes.

While Spider-Man has always been a popular superhero, the character has become even more so in recent years thanks in no small part to the popularity of Tom Holland’s portrayal of the character as well as the universally acclaimed Spider-Verse films. Despite this, Insomniac Games and Sony are going all in promoting Spider-Man 2, from daily promo videos featuring the voice actors to teasing fans with glimpses of the many suits that will be available in the game. With reviews calling the game one of the best Spider-Man games ever, it is no wonder why fans can hardly wait for Friday.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will be available on October 20 for PS5.
