South Park: The Stick of Truth is the irreverent cartoon's take on the RPG genre of video games. Structured almost like a season-long story arc centered around the player's character, The Stick of Truth beautifully recreates the titular mountain town where the show takes place. The narrative does not restrict itself to just the snow-capped mountains of Denver, but rather takes the player on a journey north, to a place dear and precious to South Park fans: Canada.

How To Get Into Canada

The road to Canada represents one of the last obstacles the player must overcome before the New Kid can undertake the final missions of The Stick of Truth. If the player does not have access to Canada yet, they will be stopped by the border guard stationed at the northernmost region of the playable map. Though the players can obtain access simply by playing through the main quest of the game, the steps to get there may not always be clear.

After receiving the main quest titled "Heading North" from Wendy Testaburger, the player is directed to find someone who is capable of translating the abortion records written in French. In the spirit of the show's humor that has caused the Stick of Truth to be censored in some countries – after the New Kid returns to the Elven Kingdom, Cartman recognizes this particular dialect of Orcish and directs the player to venture north to Canada, providing them with a passport and the fake name of Larry Bobinski.

Since the passport comes without a photo, the New Kid must then venture to the Photo Dojo to have their picture taken. After a brief interactive cutscene with the photographer, followed by a fight against an unarmored enemy whose attacks can only cause mental scarring, the player will receive the picture they need – and thus the game will finally direct them to make their way to the Canadian border.

Reaching the border, provided the player has not already found their way beforehand, is a simple matter. Entering the forest and following Kyle's directions of going North, North, then North... and North again, will put the players in front of the Canadian guard barring the way. With passport in hand, the player can now compel the guard to allow them passage into the 16-bit RPG world of Canada, a location that its sequel, The Fractured But Whole, had sadly omitted.

In order to make the most of their trip to Canada in South Park: The Stick of Truth, it is recommended that players either convert some of their American dollars into Canadian ones or sell a few items in their inventory at Canadian vendors.

South Park: The Stick of Truth is available on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
