Soulmask entangles players in the survival experience, putting you in the shoes of a lone survivor wearing a tribal mask. To get familiar with the game’s plot, you are going to set on an exploration mission to search for answers and rebuild the tribe in order to piece together the fragmented story along the way.

However, you may encounter a frustrating issue: your buildings decay when they are left unattended. This is a significant disadvantage since you are only left with the option to reconstruct them constantly. Fortunately, there's a solution that ensures that your buildings do not fall into ruin.

How to Prevent Your Buildings from Decaying

To prevent your building from decaying in Soulmask, you will need to build Bonfires close to your buildings. These bonfires will protect your structures from rain damage or possible attacks. Therefore, it will be wise to build the Bonfires as soon as you lay down your base to ensure that your structures are protected.

How to Build a Bonfire

You can follow these steps to build a Bonfire in the game:

Press the Tab key to access the Items menu.
Look for the Bonfire blueprint. You will find it in the Manual Crafting Blueprint section.
Make sure you have gathered all the necessary resources to construct the Bonfire.
Once you have the required materials, select the Bonfire blueprint and place it near your buildings.

Once you are done constructing the Bonfire, next you will need to add fuel to keep it burning. Although there are many fuel options you can choose, it is recommended to use Bark, as it is found in abundance.

How to Keep Your Bonfire Running

As you progress and continue your progress, you will need to add fuel to the Bonfire consistently so that your Bonfire remains lit and can continue to help negate the decaying effect on your buildings. However, as you progress and recruit more tribesmen, you can assign them to maintain the Bonfire.

To assign them tasks, navigate to the Work tab of your tribesmen and provide them with the following roles:

Wild Collection: Assign tribesmen to gather wood logs at the location where the Bonfire will be built.
Camp Upkeep: Assign tribesmen to manage the Bonfire.

After assigning tasks, your tribesmen will begin collecting wood from the surrounding area to keep the Bonfire fueled. To further increase their efficiency, equip them with appropriate tools which will enhance their productivity.
