Soulmask is one of the best survival/management games, and it features a vast map that feels alive and populated. There are a lot of different creatures, tons of places to explore, and plenty of game mechanics to master.
Properly exploring the map of Soulmask is time-consuming, and requires a lot of walking around. Players need mounts if they want to reduce the amount of time they spend traveling. They can get mounts by taming the creatures they come across. However, only a few animals can be mounted by players. Here’s everything you need to do to obtain these animals and make them your companions.
Soulmask: All Console Commands (& How to Make Them Work)
Console commands make everything easier in Soulmask. Here are all of them and how to make them work.
All Mounts in Soulmask
Soulmask is currently in Early Access, so the number of mounts might change as new updates come out. At the time of writing, there are only five mounts in the game so far. Among these, the higher tier ones require a higher Awareness Strength in order for the player to ride them.
The minimum Awareness Strength players need to ride a mount is 15, meaning they'll have to spend a few hours exploring the map on their own two feet. Mounts are only unlocked near the end of the early game once players have solidified their presence on the land and created a sustainable base.

How to Tame All Mounts in Soulmask
Alpaca
Capture young Alpacas with a medium trap. These animals feed on certain fruits/vegetables, which act as good bait for them. Kill the adult Alpacas around the young ones, and give the small animals time to fall into the trap. Then, simply carry them to a base, feed them until they grow, and use a saddle to turn one into a mount.
Llama
Llamas can be captured through the same process as Alpacas. Llamas prefer pineapples, peanuts, and Llama Feed, both for food and for bait. Llamas are much better than Alpacas when it comes to carrying capacity. They also have different types of saddles that let them carry unconscious NPCs, captured animals, and extra loot.
Players can find baby Llamas and Alpacas early in the game from the various Barbarian camps scattered in the starting area of the map. Finding them in the wild will take much longer, since they only spawn in the grasslands in the middle of the map. Players shouldn't approach this middle-game area until they have cleared the first pyramid.
Jaguar
Find a Jaguar Mother using the blue tracks found across the map. These will be unlocked once the player repairs the mask node: Habitat Analysis. The tracks only become visible when the player is actively using Life Perception. After finding the mother, follow her back to her cub. There, set medium traps around the perimeter, making sure not to alert the cub in the process. Use any type of meat as bait.
Players will need a lot of patience to catch the cub, since it needs to wander into the cage on its own. Jaguars have a large sensory range, so make sure to stay far enough away that they don't hear or see you. Once captured, simply carry the cub back to base, feed it fresh meat, and raise it until it becomes a large animal. Use a Jaguar saddle on it to make it into a mount.
Ostritch
Find an Ostrich egg, hatch it in the base, and grow it until it's ready to be used as a mount. Ostrich eggs can be hatched by placing them near a source of heat. After hatching, these animals grow up fairly quickly and become ready to mount once they reach maturity.
Snow Leopard
Snow Leopards undergo the same process as panthers/jaguars. These are typically the highest level mounts in the game, so make sure to level up as much as possible before trying to tame them.
Which Mount Should You Choose?
Leopards and panthers are best for speed, making them great for exploration. Alpacas and Llamas have a much higher carrying capacity, making them good for hauling loot. Meanwhile, Ostriches are a unique mount that can help the player glide. Having different types of mounts in the player base is beneficial since they're useful for different situations.
