Sony is building up excitement for its upcoming PlayStation Media Showcase event on Monday, October 30, during Paris Games Week. The event, according to Sony, is going to be of a similar scale to E3 with plenty of showcased games and brand new announcements. Fans can tune into the show at 8:00 am Pacific on October 30 for the event's pre-show or 9:00 am Pacific for Media Showcase main event livestream via Twitch, Youtube, Facebook, or the official PlayStation website.

So far Sony has stayed quiet on what games fans should expect during the event, but if it's comparable to E3 then big reveals should be expected. Big exclusives including Spider-Man, God of War, and Days Gone will be odd if absent, and other 2018 titles like the Shadow of the Colossus remake and Detroit: Become Human are likely to be shown. There are also plenty of big titles with uncertain release windows like the Final Fantasy 7 remake, Death Stranding, and The Last of Us: Part 2 that may or may not be in Paris too.

Never discount the possibility that Sony will be focusing on new announcements and surprises, so previously revealed games may not be a focus. It's also possible that Sony is overhyping the event, so expectations should be kept in check. For PlayStation fans, the Paris PlayStation Media Showcase should be fun either way.

Sony is also recommending fans tune into the pre-show in addition to the main broadcast, teasing an extra hour of announcements and reveals. And judging from Sony's teases, the pre-show is definitely worth making room for the extra hour in your schedule. Sony says that during the pre-show 21 game updates will be featured, a packed hour with only about three minutes per game. 7 of those games will be entirely new announcements for PS4 and PS VR.

The pre-show will likely focus on smaller titles like indies and virtual reality titles, leaving the big exclusives like God of War for the main presentation. Sony's patented PlayStation indie montages can burn through 20 games in a matter of minutes, which likely explains the high number of games planned to be shown in such a limited amount of time. Sony's most recent big presentations have been absent of the indie games it focused so heavily on when the PS4 first launched, so maybe the pre-show is a way to remedy that.

Check out the PlayStation Media Showcase live from Paris Games Week starting October 30 at 9:00am or 8:00am for the pre-show.
