Given that Sons of the Forest is in early access, a few bugs and glitches are to be expected, and one person has taken advantage of such exploits in order to complete the game using nothing but a stick. When it was released, Endnight's survival horror title was supposedly responsible for Steam's servers temporarily going down, or at least that's how it seemed. One of the reasons for this server-breaking popularity was the inclusion of the AI companion Kelvin, who was implemented to assist players.

Sons of the Forest fans immediately fell in love with Kelvin, with the mute NPC able to gather wood and just generally provide company for people. Of course, he's not perfect by any means, with instances being shown of his programming actually causing more havoc than anything. But that's the nature of early access titles. There will always be a few hiccups here and there, and there are some players who have been taking advantage of a few glitches while they can.

For example, YouTuber The Spiffing Brit challenged themselves with seeing if they could finish Sons of the Forest as quickly as possible. Not just quickly, either, but by utilizing a certain exploit that allows them to get to the end of the game with nothing but a stick. In their latest video, they show that by using some kindling in this early build of the game, players can "break the laws of physics" in order to achieve quick times. There is a particular exploit the YouTuber uses, which they call "The British Space Program" and involves placing a stick on the ground, backing into it, and letting the game's engine do the rest.

Given that this video was uploaded a few days ago and Sons of the Forest has had a few updates since releasing, it's possible this glitch has been ironed out by now. However, at the time of writing, there doesn't appear to be any update or hotfix that could be related to this exploit, at least not according to any patch notes. That said, if Endnight Games hasn't fixed it and others like it, it's possible the studio will look to sort it out soon.

In any case, it shows that the survival horror genre is still popular. Sons of the Forest may be buggy at the moment, but that's understandable. However, it's these little glitches that inspire a few players to get creative with the way they play, and it's worth taking advantage of some of them while they're still around.
