Sons of the Forest takes survival to a whole new level. There are hundreds of different items scattered across the island which you need to find to craft even more items; such as weapons, ammunition, tools, clothes, food, and other survival gear. There are also cannibals and mutants on the island that will be trying their best to stop you from scavenging.

Thankfully, there is an easier way to boost your survival chances. It has to do with enabling the developer console to enter any one of numerous commands and codes. You can use item IDs to spawn any item as many times as you want in Sons of the Forest to build your defenses before the night, regenerate your health, or arm yourself to the teeth.

How to Enable Cheats in Sons of the Forest

The only way to cheat in Sons of the Forest is by using console commands. For that, you need to first enable the developer console menu. While in the game, type "cheatstick" on your keyboard without quotation marks and press "F1" to bring up the console screen.

You will now see hundreds of console commands on your screen as shown in the image above. Ignore them for now, because you do not need to learn them by heart.

The console menu auto-fills as you type, allowing you to discover what kind of cheat can be activated. For example, you do not need to know the exact console command to become invulnerable. Just type "god" to see it get auto-filled to "godmode".

Enter the complete console command or cheat you want to activate and then close the menu by pressing "F1" again. That is all there is to it.

How to Spawn/Add All Items in Sons of the Forest

There are several ways to add or spawn items in Sons of the Forest. It all comes down to what item you want, its quantity, and for what purpose. The latter is important because not everything can fit in your inventory. It is far more convenient to fill your backpack when running low or dump a ton of materials in front of you when building or crafting.

There is also another way to add items using their IDs in Sons of the Forest, but it requires you to manually edit your save files. This can be a bit time-consuming compared to simply entering the aforementioned console commands.

1. Head into C:\User\User-Name\AppData\LocalLow\Endnight\SonsOfTheForest\Saves.
2. Open the folder with a long series of random numbers.
3. Open either the single-player or multiplayer folder.
4. Open the most recent save file folder.
5. Open the "PlayerInventorySaveData" file in Notepad or any other text editor.
6. Find the following string: {\”ItemId\”:XXX,\”TotalCount\”:X,\”UniqueItems\”:[]},
7. Replace the "XXX" with the item ID and "X" with the quantity you want.
8. Add a new string for each item you want after the comma of the previous string.
9. Save your changes and launch Sons of the Forest.
10. Load the save file you just edited to find all the items in your inventory.

There are two things to be mindful of here. Firstly, make sure to create a back-up save file in case you end up corrupting your original data. Secondly, do not add more items than the game can support. You only need one Chainsaw to cut down trees and dismember cannibals. Trying to force-spawn two of them in your inventory will end up crashing the game.

Below is a comprehensive list of all items and IDs, split between their respective types and categories. Confirm the ID of the item you want to spawn in the game, and then use the aforementioned "additem" console command after enabling cheats.

Do note that some items have been removed from Sons of the Forest since the major 1.0 update. So, if you are returning from the early access period and cannot find a specific item, it is either because the item was removed or shifted to a different category.

Weapons

The good news is that there are plenty of weapons to find in Sons of the Forest. The bad news is that they are either located in far-off bunkers or need to be crafted.

Weapon Attachments

Having trouble pinpointing cannibals in a dark cave? Get a shotgun rail to mount a flashlight in Sons of the Forest. Need to sneak past an enemy camp? Use a pistol silencer for stealth.

Weapon Ammunition

There is no point in having weapons if they are empty. Make sure to always have enough ammunition to beat every Mutant you come across in Sons of the Forest. There should be no shame here in using a console command to spawn ammo. These mutants deserve every bullet possible.

Tools

Tools are easily the most important items to have here. Consider them as your trusted companions, since the more (and better) tools you have, the easier it becomes to survive. You can gauge this from the GPS Locator you get at the start of Sons of the Forest. You would be lost without it.

Printed Objects

Some items can only be crafted by using a 3D Printer in Sons of the Forest. It looks like a normal laptop in the game but can be used to 3D-print several useful items as long as you have enough Printer Resin. Clothing

Just because you are stranded in the middle of nowhere does not mean you lose your fashion sense. There are numerous pieces of clothing on the island that not only beat running around naked but also provide resistance against the elements. Armor Sets
