Now that Sonic the Hedgehog has gone ahead and made its rounds through theaters, Paramount Pictures has decided to reveal some of the movie's easter eggs.

Admittedly, most of the eggs revealed don't offer anything super insightful as they point to the Sonic franchise's most famous elements — elements that even most casuals will know. Fans may have caught most, if not all, of the nods on their first viewing.

For instance, the town of Green Hills in the movie takes its name from the Green Hills Zone: the first level that Sonic blitzes through in most of his games. The "joke" that sees Sonic call Dr. Robotnik "Eggman," stems from the fact that "Eggman," is the name he usually goes by in the games. And the drawing done by Crazy Carl that depicts Sonic is actually just the image of the infamous "Sanic" meme.

One egg revealed that's interesting — albeit still relatively easy to spot — is the Chaos Emerald one displayed on Sonic's "Safe Worlds" map. But less because its an easter egg, and more because it hints at the involvement of chaos emeralds in a potential sequel.

Sonic the Hedgehog is available now on digital and will race onto Blue Ray on May 19, 2020.
