As the Marvel Cinematic Universe's influence is felt on the rest of the film industry, more and more blockbusters are including a post-credits scene to tease a sequel or just show some silly bloopers. When the Sonic the Hedgehog movie comes out on Valentine's day fans will surely want to know if they will have to stick around after the credits during the big-screen debut of their favorite blue hedgehog.

The film stars Ben Schwartz of Parks and Recreation as the titular hedgehog and Jim Carrey as his nemesis Dr. Robotnik, as well as James Marsden as Sonic's human best friend. It is being produced and distributed by Paramount Pictures and will be the directorial debut from Jeff Fowler. Experts predict Sonic is going to be a big hit at the box office when it comes out. So, the question remains, will it have a post-credits scene?

The good news is that Sonic The Hedgehog won't have just one post-credits scene, but is confirmed to have two. Twitter user and Sonic fan @o_Azul35 tweeted out a confirmation that the "Sonic movie has 2 post credits scenes. One mid-credits and another 1 or 2 minutes after the mid-credits." In the replies, the poster said this information comes from an anonymous source who saw an advanced screening of the movie. This leaves room for some doubt, but the number of post-credits scenes in a Sonic movie would be an odd thing to lie about.

If these scenes follow the format the MCU movies have laid out, this likely means the first of these scenes is a teaser for what comes next. Fans are speculating that Knuckles or Tails will make a brief appearance in the post-credits as a tease for a Sonic the Hedgehog sequel with the whole Sonic gang. These characters will probably show up in the mid-credits scene, since it is the more important one. The second scene could be anything, even though it will likely be some final joke or gag that didn't quite make it into the movie.

The Sonic movie has been ramping up its marketing efforts in the weeks prior to release. A song from the soundtrack featuring Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, and Lil Yachty was released to promote the movie a couple weeks ago. This past weekend a Sonic the Hedgehog Super Bowl commercial ran during the big game. After a complicated and troubled hype cycle, the movie is almost out.

Sonic the Hedgehog will release in theaters on February 14th.
