Before the official launch of Sonic Origins Plus later this June, footage of playable Amy Rose has leaked online, along with her Super Form. While fans are excited that Amy has obtained a Super Form, they're split on how it looks. Sonic Origins Plus is an expansion to original game that launched last summer, with the new content including 12 Sega Game Gear games, along with a playable Classic Amy Rose.Making Amy playable in Sonic Origins Plus was met with praise, as she can now bust up Dr. Eggman's robots like the other three characters already in the base game. This move was also seen as an exciting prospect of introducing something that fans had been wanting for a long time: Super Amy. The Dragon Ball Z Super Saiyan-inspired transformation has been a staple of the franchise but has seldom been used by characters other than Sonic, with the forms used by Knuckles and Tails only being present in the Classic game, Sonic 3 & Knuckles. A leak from the Plus update shows off that Amy does have both a Super and Hyper form after collecting the necessary items, though fans are split on how it looks.RELATED: Sonic Team Wants To Make Another Game Featuring Shadow the HedgehogThe footage of this form was first leaked by YouTuber Sekaimen, who posted a video showcasing all the Super and Hyper forms that can be used in Sonic Origins Plus, unlocked after obtaining all the Chaos Emeralds or Super Emeralds depending on the game. Super Amy has a unique sprite where her quills and fur start glowing a brighter pink, becoming invincible in the process. The pallette almost appears the same when compared to her Hyper form as well. While some were very happy to see that Super Amy was confirmed, others were disappointed in its look.

The most common reason as to why fans were disappointed is that the Super Form itself looked very uninspired, only changing the color of her quills and having her glow. Some had noted this is the exact same thing Sonic Team did for Tails, Knuckles, Mighty, and Ray for their Super Forms in both the classic games and Sonic Mania, when they would have preferred a design that was more unique to her instead of just a palette swap.

Other fans were just glad to see Amy Rose getting a Super Form at all, some commenting how their depictions ended up being correct in what she'd look like. Some are hoping this isn't just a one-off thing and Super Amy can be utilized in modern games like the upcoming Sonic Superstars.

Sonic Origins is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with the Plus expansion launching on June 23, 2023.
