Sonic Frontiers has introduced many new features in its Sights, Sounds, and Speeds update, many of which can keep fans entertained for hours. One of these incredible new features is the Battle Rush Mode, which has Sonic going through every enemy, guardian, and boss in the game. This mode requires Sonic Frontiers players to expand their knowledge of the game's combat. While many encounters in the game could be considered pretty easy, going through back-to-back enemies is arduous. Thankfully, there are strategies and optimal moves to go for that will be detailed in this guide.

Battle Rush is unlocked by beating the game on any difficulty. It will prompt the player to choose their save file when starting the mode, and it would be best to get to level 99 in each stat before continuing. Each island challenge will usually take upwards of 10 minutes to complete, especially on a blind run where players might not know what they're getting into.

How to Beat Battle Rush Mode in Sonic Frontiers

While the Kronos island challenge may seem trivial, it requires quite a bit of precision to get the minimum of an A-Rank to proceed to Ares. The best strategy for getting through most encounters in this mode is using the Stomp attack (done by pressing the Stomp button mid-combo) and the Cross Slash (done by pressing Boost and Jump midair.) These, in combination, can trivialize most enemy encounters as long as Sonic is at strength level 99, which is easy to achieve through fishing.

The only exceptions are any enemies that require Cyloop to defeat. The optimal strategy for these enemies is to encircle the entire group with a single Cyloop or hit them once and hold down the Cyloop button to do a quick Cyloop. Either way, most enemies will still be dispatched using Stomp or Cross Slash, leaving the titans as the only tricky part. It's best to hit them once, Stomp attack, and repeat, making sure to parry when needed.

The Reward for Beating Battle Rush Mode in Sonic Frontiers

After going through all four islands' challenges, Sonic Frontiers players will face the ultimate challenge. A new level will unlock, requiring the player to go through all four islands in succession, with no checkpoints or saves. This long gauntlet of enemies, including all four titans, can take well over half an hour to complete, and the reward is only given out to those players who get an S-rank on this challenge.

If the final 4-island challenge has been S-ranked, the reward of a new difficulty, Extreme difficulty, will be given out. This difficulty makes it impossible to level up and has almost every enemy instant-kill Sonic — a true challenge for the most intense players of Sonic Frontiers.

Sonic Frontiers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
