In The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, there's an event called the Blood Moon that randomly happens during the nighttime. And what it does is bring dead enemies back to life while also respawning items, materials, and other helpful gear. Sonic Frontiers has its own event that is very similar to Zelda's Blood Moon, and it's called Starfall.

What is the Starfall Event?

The Starfall event in Sonic Frontiers will randomly happen once the day ends. The game doesn't run on the real-world clock, so players will see the days go by in-game by just exploring and completing missions and puzzles.

Players will know that a Starfall event is happening because a cutscene will play, showing enemies being resurrected and meteors coming down like rain. During this time, players will notice a bunch of sparkling items on the ground.

These are fallen star pieces and will only appear during a Starfall event. By picking these up, players can use the Slot Machine to earn a bunch of Purple Coins. The more star pieces that are picked up, the more chances at the slots.

What are the Purple Coins for?

These Purple Coins can be taken to Big the Cat to get some fishing time in. By catching all kinds of fish at several fishing locations (one for each map), players can earn tokens that can be redeemed at Big's shop. He offers all sorts of useful items that can push players forward through Sonic Frontiers' story.

By fishing with Big, players can even find Koko scrolls, unlocking new fast-travel locations for Sonic .

Can I Make the Lotto Slots Stop?

Of course, to earn as many Purple Coins as possible with the slots, players will want to line up an icon with three of the same pictures. Depending on the picture that's matched, players will get a certain number of coins. Sonic Frontiers players can either let the game choose the slots themselves or press up on the d-pad to stop it to make the process a little faster.

How Long Does the Starfall Last?

Based on our Starfall event, players will have about three-four minutes to collect star pieces scattered around the island. Once the night ends, the slot machine will disappear, so make sure to take advantage of the short time frame.

Sonic Frontiers is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
