Some talented modders of Sonic Frontiers are working on overhauling the game to make a big change to the game's photo mode. Near the end of March, Sonic Frontiers released its first free update, known as the "Sights, Sounds, and Speed" DLC. This added a few new features to the game, which fans have been wanting in the base game since its launch, such as a Juke Box, a Battle Rush mode, and Cyberspace Level Challenge mode. One of the greatly anticipated modes for the game introduced in this update was the Photo Mode, which is perfect for an open-zone adventure game like Sonic Frontiers.Sonic Frontiers' photo mode, while not bad by any means, is lacking for some fans. While it allows players to take detailed photos of the Starfall Islands, the mode is a little bland in some areas. This includes a lack of dynamic poses, with the only ones Sonic can make being a part of the gameplay animations. If Sonic is standing still in one spot, it defaults to his normal idle stance. Modders of the game are taking it upon themselves to spruce up the photo mode with one simple, but big change: emotes.RELATED: Atlus Suggests New Sega Mascot After Sonic's 'Murder'Most games with a photo mode give players the option to customize their screenshots with a variety of features, some allowing their player characters to pose in the photos. This PC mod for Sonic Frontiers aims to give that same personality, where Sonic's new pose can make a single photo more vibrant. This includes 30 different poses, from references to other games, a simple wave, and even one that makes him look like he's taking a selfie on the Starfall Islands. This mod was developed by Blue Vivacity, TheDuckDealer, and SonicPox, with a trailer for this mod being released on April Fools' Day.

Since Blue Vivacity released this trailer on April Fools' Day, he included a link for the "release" of this Sonic Frontiers mod, which wasn't the mod at all, but rather one that completely changed Sonic's model and physics for the worse. He did go on to clarify despite the "release" being the joke, the three modders are indeed working on providing an Emotes mod, with them hopefully looking to release it soon. He also thanked the many fans who gave their feedback and supported the mod.

Modders have been busy ever since the game's launch, such as modding in new playable characters for Sonic Frontiers, to this photo mode overhaul. Progress on this mod can be found on Blue Vivacity's Twitter account, with photos of some of the poses Sonic can make being found there.

Sonic Frontiers is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
