Sonic Frontiers' open-world map consists of five different islands, each with its own massive list of puzzles, side quests, and main story quests. On the second island, called Ares Island, players will find not only Knuckles but a bunch of enemies they will need to defeat. One of the quests in this region is called The Best Defense, and players have a seemingly impossible time limit to defeat a group of four massive Sonic Frontiers enemies. These colossal Towers can be hard to combat one at a time, but four of these imposing machines will be quite difficult to down in the strict time limit that the quest sets.

Getting the Quest The Best Defense

Players will need to have a chat with Knuckles after getting the fourth Chaos Emerald. The echidna will challenge Sonic to herd some cute little collectible Sonic Frontiers' Koco friends; then, four massive Tower enemies will rise out of the ground. Sonic will have an incredibly short timer on slamming each one of the massive enemies into the ground, so he will need to use a special way of smashing them into pieces to do it.

Defeating the Towers In Time in Sonic Frontiers

In order to defeat these monsters, Sonic will need to use his climbing skills. Here is the fastest way to trash each one of those four Sonic Frontiers' enemies as quickly as possible.

  • First, hit one Tower and get it to slam attack the ground.
  • A ring of spikes will fan out from the Tower; jump over this attack. Sonic cannot dodge during this mission.
  • Head to the base of the Tower now that it is impeded in the ground.
  • Wall run up the side of the Tower.
  • Using on of Sonic's unique Frontier's skills called Stomp Attack, slam into the top of the Towers.
  • Repeat with the remaining Towers within the time limit.

If players have yet to get this useful skill from the Sonic Frontier's skill tree, it is located on the right side of the skill tree. It only costs 10 points to pick it up, so players shouldn't have any trouble unlocking it by the time they reach this quest line. Skill points are earned by picking up the blue diamond-shaped items that are both dropped by enemies and gained through shattering breakable items out in the world. Collect them whenever they appear, and tally up those needed skill points until the tech tree is completely filled out.

Sonic Frontiers is available for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
