Sonic Frontiers players that are making their way through the first open zone of the game, Kronos Island, will eventually come across a mandatory puzzle called 'The Grave Mystery.' Among a field of tombstones, there are black ones that need to be rotated by Sonic to make sure the lights are in the correct position. The marks on the ground can help players figure out how the design is supposed to look, but this guide will give players exact steps on how to solve the Grave Mystery tombstone puzzle in Sonic Frontiers.

A Grave Mystery Puzzle Solution

Luckily, Sonic Frontiers players will be able to rotate the four black tombstones without physically walking up to them. Once players interact with the grave next to them, the quest will start.

There are four tombstones that can be rotated, and we marked the image down below with four circles, each one numbered from 1 to 4 in a clockwise positioning. The southern-most tombstone is marked #1; the tombstone on the left side is #2; the tomb on the north end is #3 and finally, #4 is on the far right.

Here's what players need to do to complete the 'A Grave Mystery' puzzle (make sure to refer to the image above):

  • Take control of grave #2 and aim its energy beam at the grave facing northwest to make a path with the light.
  • Take control of tomb #4 and aim its light at the grave southwest of it to make another path.
  • Head to tomb #3 and aim its beam at the grave that's to the south/southwest. This will create another path of light that follows the markings on the ground.
  • Take control of #1 and aim it at the tomb to the south to make another path of light.
  • Take control of #2 again, and put it back to the position we put it in in step 1. It's the tomb to the northwest.
  • Control #4 and aim the light at the grave to the southwest. This is the last step, and once it's done, the puzzle will be completed, making the shape of some sort of ship.

And that's all there is to solving the Grave Mystery puzzle in Sonic Frontiers. After finishing it up, players will finally get to fight against Titan and become Super Sonic for the first time.
