The following contains spoilers for Sonic Dream Team, now available on Apple Arcade.

Sonic Dream Team sees Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Cream, and Rouge sucked into Eggman's dreams by a device called the Reverie, controlled by a guardian named Ariem. As Dr. Eggman fights the sheep protector for control of the relic, Sonic and friends traverse Dreamscape levels of Eggman's own design. Across four stages with three acts, players have eight missions per act to collect Dream Orbs by clearing specific challenges. Once enough Dream Orbs are collected, fans can face a boss.

The mobile game is rather short and only has four bosses for fans to challenge, but these enemies are built to take advantage of Sonic Dream Team and its unique platforming. While keeping in mind the many strengths of Dream Team's six playable characters, fans are given dedicated bosses that might not be too challenging, but are spectacles in their own right. Some are bigger showstoppers than others, though, which makes them incredibly memorable and fun to fight.

S Tier

The Guardian Hunter

Specifically made to target Ariem, the Guardian Hunter can be seen being primed and ready by Dr. Eggman in the background of an earlier boss fight. The Guardian Hunter is only fought by Knuckles the Echidna and Rouge the Bat, though the boss battle is more about boosting and using the homing attack at the right time than climbing and gliding. With the Guardian Hunter's colorful yet almost demonic appearance, complete with the unsettling snap of its fingers and tilt of its head between attacks, this battle is creepy yet satisfying, stealing all the attention.

A Tier

Nightmare Eggman

After he's warped his Dreamscapes to suit his ideals, Eggman appears as a darker, far more powerful nightmare of himself to stop Sonic and his allies. Players avoid attacks from Eggman's gigantic disembodied hands as he towers over the cast as they keep Ariem safe, tossing her back and forth between each other. It's hard to consider Nightmare Eggman a true boss, as fans don't fight him directly. The "fight" is all platforming challenges, but the encounter is intimidating to play and impressive to look at, which leaves it incredibly memorable.

B Tier

Factory Foremen/The Four Man

The unique thing about the Factory Foremen fight in Sonic Dream Team is how the boss has two phases, serving as practically two different fights at once. Damaging the Factory Foremen like players would need to against Zero in Sonic Adventure eventually leads the robots to form as one as The Four Man, a towering Eggman mech that Cream and Tails need to fly around to beat. As creative as this fight is, it's sadly a bit too forgiving as the second fight in the game, with checkpoints immediately exposing the weakspot of the boss if players die.

C Tier

Dr. Crabulous

Dr. Crabulous is the very first boss players encounter in Sonic Dream Team, which unfortunately means he's exceedingly simple compared to the rest. Made to be run around and Spin Dashed until he pops by Sonic and Amy, he gets weaker and weaker with the damage he takes until the final hit is completely up for the players to grab when they get there. While fun and bouncy, the other boss battles in Sonic Dream Team are much more mechanically impressive, as well as unique to the Sonic franchise as a whole.

Generally speaking, no matter how these bosses are ranked, they're all still fun to encounter in Sonic Dream Team. For what's essentially a mobile game, Dream Team is still a complete Sonic experience in its own right. Every boss found within it is still fun, if not challenging as well, which means that fans will likely still walk away from the battles with a smile on their face.
