Solo Leveling: 7 Strongest Mage Class Hunters, Ranked

The mage class of hunters are the supporting members of a hunting party and these mages are the most powerful in the Solo Leveling story.

Aside from wielding all kinds of weapons, there are also fighters who use their fists to deal devastating blows to their enemies, often enhanced by claws or gauntlets. Overall, a good fighter is an invaluable asset to any Raid party, as they can bypass magical resistance and deal a lot of damage, but such power does come with the cost of vulnerability, as they are not as heavily protected as Tanks, and not as fast as Assassins.

Warning: Major spoilers from the manhwa below.

8 Kanae Tawata

Draw Sword Guild, Japan

Kanae Tawata

Kanae Tawata came to Korea with the rest of the Draw Sword Guild for the 4th Jeju Island Raid and is considered to be one of the strongest S-Ranks from Japan. In the days before the battle, she held her own against Cha Hae-In in a friendly sparring match but ultimately lost.

Interestingly enough, she is one of the few Hunters to double-wield weapons, in her case it is a pair of Katanas. While she was a formidable opponent, by the time she appeared in the series the rest of the “cast” was on an entirely different level, and she had trouble with newer enemies.

7 Atsushi Kumamoto

Draw Sword Guild, Japan

Atsushi Kumamoto

Atsushi Kumamoto is an interesting character, with a very distinct personality. He is someone who others consider cowardly and often has trouble going through with his attacks. However, the danger lies in his berzerk state, in which he becomes an absolute killing machine, but completely loses control over his actions.

Solo Leveling: 7 Most Powerful Artifacts In The Manhwa

Solo Leveling features several powerful artifacts. These examples take the cake for being the strongest of the bunch.

His physical capabilities can rival other top-tier S-Rank fighters, and he was keeping up with Baek Yoonhoo and Cha Hae-In. Being a Reawakened Hunter, his powers have clearly increased, and certain readers speculate that due to his use of magic spells, he was a mage-type before the Reawakening.

6 Baek Yoonho

White Tiger Guild, Korea

Baek Yoonho

Baek Yoonho is one of the first S-Rank Hunters that the readers are introduced to, and for a long time he is one of the strongest characters on the scene. However, as the story progresses, stronger and stronger characters begin to appear, and he is eventually overshadowed by other, better fighters.

He prefers to battle with his fists, enhanced with Claws. However, his trump card is his Transformation ability, which allows him to turn into a massive, lion-like beast that can easily tear through most enemies.

5 Kenzo Tanaka

Draw Sword Guild, Japan

Kenzo Tanaka

Kenzo Tanaka is an incredibly powerful Japanese S-Rank hunter, who dominated the battlefield with his sheer strength. During the friendly competition between the Japanese and Korean hunters, he effortlessly subdued a powerful Korean fighter, and later on won over Baek Yoonho with his strength and speed.

Solo Leveling: 10 Most Evil Characters In The Manhwa

These characters embody the lifeblood of evil and villainy in the Solo Leveling series.

Kenzo is one of the few characters that fights using only his bare fists, and nonetheless being one of the most prolific hunters of Japan. However, even his skills were nowhere near enough to battle the Ant King, and he was doomed the moment the monster appeared.

4 Cha Hae-In

Hunters Guild, Korea

Cha Hae-In

Cha Hae-In has quickly gained a lot of popularity within the anime community, and it’s not difficult to see why. Her athleticism goes far beyond most hunters, and her combat abilities have been proven time and time again in the manhwa.

She is incredibly sensitive to mana, enough to literally smell other Hunters and Beasts. She is a master swordsman and has several skills that boost her abilities even further, such as the Sword Dance and the Sword of Light. She is ranked as the third most powerful hunter in Japan.

3 Hwang Dongsoo

Scavenger Guild, USA

Hwang Dongsoo

Hwang Dongsoo is introduced fairly early in the series, due to being the brother of Hwang Dongsuk, who was killed by Sung Jinwoo in a Dungeon. Originally Korean, he moved to the USA when offered a chance to increase his powers, and he joined the USA Hunter Guild afterward.

Solo Leveling: 7 Strongest Magic Beasts In The Manhwa, Ranked

Solo Leveling's Sung Jin Woo rarely breaks a sweat when fighting magic beasts, but there are some through the manhwa's history that gave him trouble.

Having upgraded his powers with Norma Seller’s help, he is far beyond the powers of a regular S-Rank hunter and was known to clear difficult dungeons. If he had met Sung Jinwoo during the Red Door arc, as he intended, Sung Jinwoo would probably have lost, but unfortunately for Hwang Dongsoo, they met at a much later stage, and by then he stood absolutely no chance.

2 Goto Ryuji

Draw Sword Guild, Japan

Goto Ryuji

Goto Ryuji is the strongest Hunter from Japan and is also the leader of the Draw Swords Guild. His speed and strength go far beyond the scopes of most S-Rank hunters, and his mastery of the katana is rumored to be second to none.

In his duel with Sung Jinwoo, he showed incredible power, destroying the reinforced walls with just the aftershock from his fists. However, his overconfidence led to his ultimate downfall, as he was still no match for the powerful Ant King.

1 Liu Zhigang

National Level Hunter, China

Liu Zhigang

Liu Zhigang is without a doubt the strongest Fighter Hunter in the world, and he has proven that time and time again. During the Japan Crisis Arc, most hunters were unable to do anything about the incredibly sturdy and devastating Giants, but Liu Zhigang was able to dispatch one, alone, in the middle of the ocean.

In the 4th Jeju Island Raid, he dispatched a large number of ants with a single swing of his swords, which sent a devastating beam. Unfortunately, most of his feats happened “off-screen”, but his status as the most powerful Fighter is uncontested.
