From what started with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav and DC Studios CEO Peter Safran announcing their business strategy to lease DC IP to streaming services, to support from Zack Snyder, who wrote “Sell It!” on a fan’s poster at Full Circle, the 'Sell Snyderverse on Netflix' initiative now gains further traction as a licensing deal between WBD and Netflix is in negotiations.DC fans campaign for the Snyderverse on Netflix in hopes that the DC rights can be leased to a third party for Snyder to finish his incomplete Justice League saga under the DC Elseworlds label. While a leasing deal likely remains the only option for the Snyderverse, as James Gunn and Safran are rebooting the franchise, the last thing that Gunn said about the initiative is that neither Netflix nor Snyder has asked. However, Snyder has since said he would be overjoyed to finish his Justice League saga through a third party. Now it appears that Netflix is interested in the HBO library, with rumors that may even include the Snyderverse.RELATED: The Flash Ending Was One Of The First Things James Gunn ChangedDeadline reports that Warner Bros. Discovery is in talks with Netflix to lease a packaged deal for HBO original content under a non-exclusive license agreement, which the initiative has been campaigning for since its inception. Sources close to Deadline state that this is a “financial move” and that “HBO veterans pushed back against the plan, but corporate financial consideration won out.” Although it is unconfirmed, the Snyderverse is rumored to have been asked for by Netflix in this packaged deal, which encompasses Man of Steel, Batman v Superman Ultimate Edition, Zack Snyder's Justice League, and even the unreleased fan campaigned Ayer Cut of Suicide Squad.

This scoop should be taken with a grain of salt, but seeing as Zack Snyder's Justice League is an HBO Max original, it wouldn’t be hard to foresee. The question should be asked why Netflix would be interested in these properties if they weren’t considering continuing the Snyderverse in some fashion. During the big news, the hashtag “Sell Snyderverse to Netflix” trended, with Kristiann Foran, the actor who played the alpha zombie in Snyder's Army of the Dead, supporting the campaign. Foran joins the likes of Snyder, Wayne T. Carr, and Forbes in public support of the Netflix initiative to see the Snyderverse continue on a third party platform.

Despite Gunn and Safran axing Wonder Woman 3, in an exclusive with Entertainment Tonight, Gal Gadot expressed that "things are being worked behind the scenes, and once the right moment arrives, you'll know about it" regarding her Wonder Woman future. Gadot is, after all, Snyder's Wonder Woman, but whether this tease of what’s to come has anything to do with the 'Snyderverse on Netflix' campaign is anyone's guess. At the very least, the initiative now appears even more tangible as a viable option for WBD and streaming services.
