Slime Rancher features a number of tricky mechanics and features that can be uncovered through exploration, experimentation, and even simple trial and error. One such feature is the Phase Lemon, a fruit that can only be acquired if players know how their regularly repositioning trees work.

Slime Rancher is a first-person sandbox game developed and published by Monomi Park. The game puts the player in the shoes of a new Slime Rancher, exploring the Far Far Range to acquire and breed new types of slime. The Phase Lemon is the favorite food of the Quantum Slime, so finding some is highly useful.

Finding Phase Lemon Trees

Phase Lemon trees can only be found in two parts of the game, The Ancient Ruins and Viktor's Workshop. As access to Viktor's Workshop requires players to unlock the Ancient Ruins, unlock the Treasure Cracker MKII, and complete a trade with Viktor. It is easier to search the Ancient Ruins themselves first.

Phase Lemon trees are unusual as they shift locations regularly, but players should note that the locations they are able to appear in are fixed, making it somewhat easier to search for them. Viktor's Workshop has a single Phase Lemon tree whose location does not change, making them easier to locate for players with access to it.

How To Get the Fruit

Phase Lemons are unusual because they cannot be acquired simply by sucking them off the tree with the Vacpack, due to being out of phase with the world. Shooting a fruit into the tree when the lemons are ripe will cause them to phase into reality and fall to the ground, making it possible to collect them. This causes the fruit fired into the tree to be lost.

It's important to note that all wild Phase Lemon Trees work this way, including the one found in Viktor's Workshop despite it being a stationary tree.

Farming Phase Lemon

After acquiring a Phase Lemon they can be planted in a farm plot to create a tree that can be harvested normally using the Vacpack, which is far easier than having to track them down at their constantly changing locations in the wild. This also makes gathering large quantities of them easier, which is especially useful when raising Quantum Slime, whose favorite food is Phase Lemon. Growing a farm of them near a Quantum Slime habitat can be very handy for keeping them happy and well-fed.

Slime Rancher is available for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
