Slime Rancher is a farming game, and it's a relatively laid-back one. There's no overall time limit, so while players have to mind the changing seasons, they don't need to completely optimize their slime farm's production.

While new players should focus on getting their farm up and running, there's no harm in taking time to spruce it up with Slime Rancher's various decorations. One of the rarer types are the ornaments.

Slime Rancher Party Gordo

We Like to Party

Currently, the only way to get ornaments are through the time-limited party weekend events. Every Friday, Slime Rancher spawns a special Party Gordo somewhere in the Far Far Range, immediately recognizable from its star-shaped sunglasses.

It spawns in the same place for all players, so it shouldn't be too hard to confirm its location by checking online. That being said, for players who want to search for it themselves, the game does give a helpful clue. The Party Gordo is constantly playing music, so players can simply follow their ears.

Once they've spotted it, players can burst the Party Gordo by feeding it 10 food. Bursting it releases 4 pink slimes, a single rare ornament, and 8 party crates with randomized ornaments.

Note that the Party Gordo does not take into account the player's current progression with spawning, and might appear in a currently inaccessible area. Players might need to get all of Slime Rancher's exploration upgrades to consistently find it.

Even if the player is unable to find the Party Gordo, there's still a chance for them to get an ornament. During the party weekend, all crates have a 50% chance of becoming party crates, so if the player is lucky they'll pick something up.

A Risky Wiggly Wonderland

Ornaments were first introduced in the 2017 Wiggly Wonderland update. From December 20th, 2017, to January 1st, 2018, standard crates had a chance of dropping ornaments. Either one of 12 common ornaments, which changed each day, or one of 3 rare ornaments, which spawned throughout the event.

These 15 ornaments are currently inaccessible through normal means. In the following Wiggly Wonderland events, the crates and ornaments were replaced with Twinkle Slimes and chimes.

That being said, it's possible to reload the event by rolling the system calendar back to the original event dates. It's not recommended, however, since it might permanently damage the game's save file. The event is also completely unavailable on the Switch version for Slime Rancher.

Slime Rancher is available now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
