Slime Rancher 2 is a laid-back exploration and farming simulation that keeps players entertained with gardening, raising slimes, and collecting resources. Keeping slimes happy is a full-time job, but taking time to gather other materials around the island can be beneficial in many ways.

Beatrix LaBeau has traveled to Rainbow Island to start her new ranch in this exciting sequel. Her home base, the Conservatory, is located in Rainbow Fields - a grassy plain home to common slimes such as the Pink, Cotton, and Tabby slimes. In addition, some minerals can be used to build equipment and upgrades that help with farming and mining. One of these is Deep Brine, but players won't be able to acquire it with a standard Vac in Slime Rancher 2.

How To Get Deep Brine

Luckily, ranchers don't have to search far to find Deep Brine. It appears as deposits on the island that are buried underground. These deposits shoot up fountains of a blue liquid, tar-like substance. Their placement is random on the island, but they refill daily in the same spots.

Players can find them near the Conservatory and along the coastlines of Rainbow Fields early in the game play. However, mining Deep Brine isn't as simple as finding it. To actually vac it up, the Vacpack needs the Resource Harvester.

Getting The Resource Harvester

Slime Rancher 2 The Lab

The Resource Harvester is one of many upgrades players can get to take their ranching to the next level. There are blueprints spread all around Rainbow Island with instructions for the required ingredients to fabricate them. These blueprints can be viewed in the Conservatory Lab.

This lab is located underground near Beatrix's house. It contains the Fabricator, a machine that stores blueprints and constructs them, and the Refinery, a storage system for plorts, minerals, and other resources used in the Fabricator. Players can use the Fabricator to build Refinery links around the island for easier access and to ensure nothing is lost if they get knocked out while exploring.

The Resource Harvester requires two things:

  • 450 Newbucks
  • 10 Cotton plorts

Farming slimes is an excellent way to obtain both quick and easy. First, explore the island to find Cotton slimes. They are yellow with floppy bunny ears. Move towards the island's north side to see them in big groups. Players will need to pick up plorts in the wild to build corrals to keep slimes on the ranch. Slimes drop plorts after eating, and feeding them vegetables will do the trick. After earning plorts, vac up a few slimes and head back to the Conservatory to shoot the plorts into the Plort Market.

The Plort Market is a giant sign that outlines what each plort is worth. The prices fluctuate, so keep an eye on it to discover which plorts will earn the most money on certain days. There is a device in front of it that players can insert the plorts into and immediately get Newbucks sent to their inventory. Players can use those to build homes for their newly acquired Cotton slimes and farm more plorts. After getting the necessary materials, shoot the plorts into the Refinery and apply the upgrade at the Fabricator. Then, ranchers can find some Deep Brine Deposits and vac them up to their hearts' content.

Slime Rancher 2 is available in Early Access on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
