Slime Rancher 2 takes all the mechanics and art style of the first one and improves on it in almost every way. With new tools and more lands to explore, plays as Beatrix Lebeau and create a slime ranch that will leave even the most experienced rancher jealous. The first Slime Rancher introduced secret statues and doors to unlock late-game content, and Slime Rancher 2 has taken that concept and ran wild with it.

These secret doors and statues are only part of the hidden secrets to find in this game. Having a Jet Pack makes getting to some of these secrets easier or, in some cases, possible, so it is highly recommended to pick up one before hunting these hidden secrets down.

10 Some Stones Can Hide Ringtail Slimes Inside

When looking for ringtail slimes, getting frustrated is easy because they like to hide. So while on Ember island, watch for small slime-shaped stone statues. These are usually ringtail slimes that have been hit by sunlight, directly turning them to stone.

To find ringtail slimes that have yet to turn to stone, check behind waterfalls where crystal and bat slimes like to hang out. One waterfall, in particular, is in the northern section of the continent across from a hole in the ground and is an excellent place to start looking for unfrozen ringtail slimes.

9 A Cave Of Useful Resources

Gordo Hunter Slime from Slime Rancher 2

Gordo slimes are giant slimes that usually hide secrets of some sort. Unfortunately, these slimes live in hard-to-find areas, so always keep an eye out for giant slimes. After finding one, it must be fed its favorite food to reveal what they are hiding. To find this cave of valuable resources, look for the Gordo hunter slime that lives in a small beach area towards the south end of the purple part in the Starlight Strand.

To access the beach, make sure to come from the north as a cliff is blocking the way from the other directions. The Gordo hunter slime's favorite food is Roostero. After being given enough Roostero, the slime will explode, revealing a small cave filled with helpful resources and a collectible pod.

8 Hidden Teleporter To Ember Valley In Rainbow Fields

Pink Gordo Slime from Slime Rancher 2

A quick way to Ember Valley is through a hidden teleporter. To unlock this teleporter, find the Gordo pink slime that lives in the northwestern part of Rainbow Fields. Players should pass some tabby slimes just before reaching the Gordo pink slime to tell if they are on the right track.

Luckily the Gordo pink slime doesn't have a favorite food like the other Gordo slimes. It will eat absolutely anything. Feed this Gordo pink slime any food, and it will harmlessly explode, into smaller slimes, to reveal a waterspout. Use that waterspout to launch up to higher ground, then follow a path to the teleporter, activate it, and be transported to Ember Island.

7 Look For Waterfalls And Waterspouts For Amazing Views

Waterfalls in Slime Rancher 2 tend to have slimes and sometimes valuable resources behind them. One cave in particular in the southern end of the ember valley has some blue diamonds behind it and a waterspout. Take this waterspout up to a hidden pond to find some of the best views in the game, and this game has some pretty good views.

The scenery is stunning, and the amount of resources is also. There are some puddle slimes, ringtail slimes, primordial oil, and even a research pod up here.

6 Plort Door In Rainbow Fields

Plort Door in Rainbow Fields Slime Rancher 2

There are 9 Plort Doors across the map of Slime Rancher 2, but only one is in Rainbow Fields. It is located in the southern part of Rainbow Fields in a crack formed by two cliffs past the dock. Before looking for the door, getting one tabby plort to give to the tabby statue outside this door is recommended.

Players must get past the Gordo phosphorus slime to get to the door. Its favorite food is the cuberry, these should be relatively plentiful in the area, but it is a good idea to have some on hand just in case. After giving the cuberries to the Gordo phosphorus slime, give the tabby plort to the statue outside the door to open the Plort door and receive a treasure pod.

5 Jetpack To An Island For Hidden Loot

A jetpack is vital to finding secret areas in this game, and this island in the Starlight Strand is no different. Above the pink grassy section of the Starlight Strand in the sandy section, players will find a teleporter. Behind the portal is a beach area where an island off in the distance can be seen.

This island is easily accessible by jetpack, even if it hasn't been upgraded yet, and is filled with resources including plenty of angler slimes, phosphorus slimes, and a research pod.

4 The Underground Passage To The Powderfall Bluffs Region

Entrance to Powderfall Bluffs from Slime Rancher 2

The Powderfall Bluffs region is the newest to Slime Rancher 2, and like every other region, the way to get there isn't obvious. First, start in the Ember Valley, and use a Jetpack to climb the mountains north of Orange Valley. After reaching the top of the mountains, navigate to the canyon area in Ruin Valley.

In this valley, look for a waterfall with a cave behind it. In this cave, there are three slime statues. Shoot each statue with a slime plort. Next, an underground passage will open up. Follow this path to find the teleporter to Powderfall Bluffs.

3 The Nocturnal Bridges and Ramps Of Powderfall Bluffs

Nocturnal bridges from Slime Rancher 2 in Powderfall Bluffs

With Powderfall Bluffs being the newest region in the game, many secrets remain to be found. But one of these secrets that have been found is the nocturnal bridges and ramps. When walking around in the daytime, keep an eye out for a rainbow glint. These areas transform into northern light-looking bridges and ramps at night.

Alongside these bridges and ramps are plants and trees that will only come out at night, making Powderfall Bluffs a magical sight to take in at night. As a result, Powderfall Bluffs is perfect for cozy gaming sessions.

2 Easier Access To The Southern Starlight Strand Area

Slime Rancher 2 Gordo Angler Slime

On top of a cliff in the Starlight Strand's southeast region is a cave containing the Gordo angler slime. Fall into this hole and feed the slime its favorite food, Sea Hens. Conveniently there should be some around the Gordo angler slime inside the cave.

After the slime is fed and explodes, a waterspout is revealed, which makes accessing the beach much more straightforward. Plus, a research pod contains a very helpful blueprint and some radiant ore in this cave if the waterspout alone wasn't intriguing enough.

1 An X Made Out Of Trees Marks The Spot

Slime Rancher 2 Overlapping Trees On Map

When looking at the map of the Starlight Strand, there is a group of two differently colored trees making what almost looks like an X. This is not done by accident, as anyone that has seen or read Treasure Island in its various forms, X marks the spot for the treasure.

At the intersection of these trees is a hidden research pod and, in a small hole underneath them, a bounty of resources that even Blackbeard would be a fan of if he were into Slime Rancher.

Slime Rancher 2 is currently available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.
