A new teaser from the creators of Slender: The Arrival has been revealed. The teaser includes a short trailer featuring one of Slender: The Arrival's locations as well as a countdown on the game's website. The Slender Man mythos has resulted in a lot of indie games, with the flagship title being Slender: The Arrival. This game served as an extension of the mechanics in Slender: The Eight Pages, refreshed the gameplay with a story campaign produced by the creators of the popular web series Marble Hornets. While the game had some merits in its narrative aspects, it had a less-than-stellar reception among horror game enthusiasts and the Slender Man fandom overall.RELATED:Starfield Has a Chance to Be Playable on the Steam DeckRegardless, the game's developer Blue Isle Studios seems to be making a return, as a new teaser trailer was dropped on the Slender: The Arrival Twitter account. The video shows a frame from one of the locations in the latter half of the game with what looks like one of the Slender Man proxies that attacked the player in Slender: The Arrival. The teaser trailer also comes with a new countdown on the game's website that hints at a larger reveal that will be announced within 32 days from the publishing of this article.

The teaser trailer could be hinting at a sequel, an updated version of Slender: The Arrival for next-gen consoles, or a full remake of the game. At the same time, there doesn't seem to be much to decipher about the ominous countdown on the website, as it simply shows the titular character - who is viewed as the epitome of the "Blank" trope in horror - being surrounded by flames. Blue Isle Studios certainly looks to have some neat surprises in store for Slender Man fans in the coming days, but whether it is hinting at a full-on sequel, a port, or a remake remains to be seen.

With the way games like Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 2, and Dead Space have been getting remakes, a remake of Slender: The Arrival would fit perfectly in this new era of horror, which has also brought fresh experiences such as The Outlast Trials and Amnesia: The Bunker. Slender Man still has a place in many horror enthusiasts' hearts, and this new project from Blue Isle Studios could reignite interest in the creature while also being a worthwhile horror game in its own right. For now, players will have to wait patiently until July 28, watching as the countdown ticks down to 0.

Slender: The Arrival is now available on Android, iOS, PC, PS3, PS4, Switch, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
