A recent mod for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim blends sci-fi and fantasy by allowing players to gather loot inspired by The Mandalorian. The "Legends of Mandalore" mod adds a slew of Mandalorian-themed armor, weapons, and other cosmetic items into Skyrim.

The mod doesn't simply drop Mandalorian-inspired armor into Skyrim, it actually provides players with a bit of narrative to weave the two series' together in an interesting way. After starting their journey at Candlehearth Hall, players will start on a mission to collect the ancient Mandalorian armor and uncover the secrets behind the lost Mandalore civilization as it exists in the world of Skyrim.

Developed by modders Araanim, AnthonyPodavin, and Kryptonian, and first brought to public attention by PCGamesN, the mod gives fans a taste of what the rumored forthcoming Mandalorian game could look like albeit in an entirely different setting. Though Legends of Mandalore is a relatively small mod, it manages to add so much flavor from the TV series and from Star Wars lore that it's difficult to see Skyrim at first glance. Beyond the iconic Beskar armor—which boasts absurdly strong in-game stats—the mod also adds a non-functional jetpack, one-handed crossbows, energy shields, and much more.

Boba Fett Legends of Mandalore mod

There are a variety of fan-favorite armor sets to collect. If fans feel so inclined, they can collect and faithfully recreate Boba Fett's armor set in Skyrim, replete with the legendary bounty hunter's jetpack. There are also stylistic nods to many of the lesser-known characters from the new TV series such as The Armorer, who led Din Djarin's tribe of Mandalorians, and Bo-Katan, who joined forces with the Mandalorian in the Season 2 finale and is thought by many to be a potential villain in Season 3. Obviously, since the modders aimed to integrate both Star Wars and Skyrim lore into their project, the armor has a distinct fantasy bent to it, rather than just being exact copies from the show.

In the future, the development team intends to add even more color variants, as well as add some functionality to many of the items. Specifically, the team wants to create a working energy shield spell rather than just have it as a static item, as well as rework the jetpack so that it's completely operational. Also, they intend to add the iconic Mythosaur, the creature that inspires the Mandalorian skull symbol. Regardless, even as it stands, the Legends of Mandalore mod is a welcome addition to a growing pantheon of incredible Skyrim mods.
